love tea mods though i wish these teas properties better reflected the alchemical properties of the ingredients IE resist fire for snow-berry tea and restore magicka for blooming red flower tea
Same here! Was slightly disappointed that most teas give similar bonuses to each other instead of ones that derive from their ingredients. I ended up editing the mod in the Creation Kit to give teas truer ingredient qualities as well as warmth bonuses (since I like playing with Survival Mode). I would post it here, but it's not really the original mod anymore since I also changed the uncraftable teas to be different ones I can craft (I changed one into a Nirn Herbal Tea, for example).
It's easy to do yourself in the CK. This video shows you how to install it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Sea_pAxlo
I run it through MO2 but I think there are other ways. Once you have the CK open, press the little vanilla "open" folder in the upper left. Double-click "teayum.esp" and set it as the Active file. Let it load and hit "yes to all" for all of the random base-game errors. Clear the warnings and close the emptied warning window.
After it's all loaded, type "yum" in the search and you will find all of the ALCH and COBJ files. Double-click on any of the ALCHs and on the effects on the right-hand side to change an effect, its magnitude, and duration. You can also change tea costs here. Hit "Ok" and double-click on any COBJs you want to edit. These are the recipes where you can change what items make what tea (created object) and how many are required. For me, I googled each ingredient to find its best 2 qualities, then made them the tea's qualities, except I multiplied the duration by the number of ingredients that make the tea. That's what works best for my playthrough but you can change it to anything. This video really helped me out if you'd like a visual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5IlO77Yx5s
It seems intimidating but I literally just learned how to open CK today let alone edit mods with it, so you can too. Like I said I don't wanna post it because it's not really the original mod anymore, besides the very lovely meshes. Maybe if the mod author gave me their blessing, but I don't want to be rude. Hope this guide helps and that your edit goes well! :)
(edit: didn't mean to necropost! Hopefully it'll still help someone.)
Thank you for posting some tips for the Creation Kit! I am familiar with modding but xEdit and CK have always intimidated me. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction for a place to start! I really like this mod, but I might just play around in the CK just to practice. Kudos for posting a solution and leaving it up! Cheers!
If you look under the Requirements drop down on the front page of this mod, there's "Varietea and CHOCOLATE Survival Mode and RND Patches" which patches this mod for Survival mode, Realistic Needs, and Frostfall.
Can you or someone make a few patches so that this mod works with Survival Mode, Frostfall, and the various needs mods as well as Campfires. Please and thank you.
Im not sure if its only me, but it seems that most of the teas are translucent? Ive read this has something to do with the alpha property but i tried editing that in nifskope to no avail.
I personally made some edits to animated eating redux to use some of these meshes but i always seem to see theough them, which is not that nice when trying to make coffee/chai/matcha/chocolate drinks.
Any tips on how to fix this? Thanks for a great mod
I thought it was the Alpha properties too, but it turns out it is the decal shader flags set on the cup piece (TGGoldenGoblet:2).
In NifSkope, click on the BSLightingShaderProperties under TGGoldenGoblet:2
Locate the Shader Flags 1 section under the Block Details.
Double-click the list and click the arrow to unselect Decal and Dynamic_Decal from the active shader flags.
P.S. I don't know if this made a difference, but while I was looking for a solution I ran the NIF Optimizer first before making the change. The current files are using NiTriShapes from Oldrim.
oh my god. i just realized that the clear cup is supposed to be that way. its in the mod picture even. its probably supposed to represent glass or something.
I love this mod. The teas are really cute and very handy on a survival playthrough. I usually tweak the mod so I can buy them from vendors and give them effects to combat the cold differently. These teas are a very natural addition to my Skyrim build and I appreciate having them. Thank you!
Fantastic mod, I love it. I drink a lot of tea in real life so of course I need to drink it in vr too lol. I don't know about others, but it paired nicely with HIGGS and ineed, so whenever I need some tea I pick it from the spell wheel and throw it into my face. It's great!

Wish I knew how to do it. Can't even find any information about how to do so anywhere.
