"Why we need this on SSE?" First, if you don't need it, or don't like it, just don't use it! Ignore it and please stop making such comments, just because of your personal thoughts. It doesn't help anyone! I mean, are you commenting that way on every mod out there, that you find useless for yourself? Come on.. ! :D

FIRST: I GOT PERMISSIONS FROM GOPHER HIMSELF, YESSS! HE IST ABLE TO PUBLISH UPDATES TO THIS PAGE IF NEEDED. AND ALSO MGE IS OK WITH THAT! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, PM ME AND I'LL SEND YOU A PROOF!
Something about permissions and stealing stuff:
    Spoiler:
    Show

This mod has been taken down shortly after I've published it, because of "no permissions". An admin didn't investigate it, nor asked me or Gopher before, and just took it down. I contacted them and sent them the PROOF that I'm allowed to publish this.

Something about me: I am porting mods from Oldrim to SSE, and share them for others, because I want to throw in my 2 cents so you guys have a better experience - OF COURSE IF I AM ALLOWED TO DO THAT BY THE ORIGINAL AUTHORS! Nothing else will ever happen, because I respect their work and efforts they put into this game! Period!

I am a software developer myself and totally understand about situations where others steal modder's work, even though these guys are spending a lot of their spare time to bring you guys a better experience with your game!
I also understand people are taking care of that, so other's don't just are able to publish unpermitted stuff, that's fine. But PLEASE investigate FIRST; BEFORE you start commenting something! The permissions are stated clearly on the desription page, and also in the permissions statement itself!
Also we have responsible people on the Nexus (mods, admins) who are taking care of that.

I had to delete some comments that were, in my opinion, respectless and unecessary. I've never came across this kind of comments before, just because of some people write before thinking. I love this community! Please be respectful and nice to each other.

Last: I don't support paid mods! I don't support piracy! I am just a dev and gamer who likes to improve things for you and myself. Please respect that before you write things that are simply not true. Thank you

What is this compared to SSE Ingame DoF?

Ingame DoF is a more shitty implementation, not featuring real config abillity. There are some INI entries that can be used to set some kind of "static" dof, but it looks terrible (for me at least) and the slider in the main menu only let's configure the bluriness level.

Also it doesn't let you configure the focal strength related to character movement states, like running, combat and dialogue.

Compared to the ingame DoF this Dynavision provides a MCM menu that let's you set your DoF effect just like you want it, and it features several modes, like a real static DoF too.

Last: Not everyone is able to run an ENB on his rig, and also not everyone likes the ingame DoF. So Dynavision offers a FPS-friendly alternate method enjoying nice DoF, that can be configured to personal flavor. I got several requests by some users after I ported this one for personal use. and that's it! Those who want it, enjoy ;)

Help a noob here? Is this a compliment or a replacement to DyndoLOD? Can they work together or do I have to choose which one to use? I noticed one is for Depth of Field (DoF) and the other is for Level of Depth (LoD). What is the difference?

You don't need to use both though...unless you have a beast of a computer and just want to throw away your FPS. DynDOLOD increases the visual quality of your LOD or your distant view while Dynavision blurs the LOD.

Increasing the detail of your LOD only to blur it doesn't make much sense right?

Why does my character blur? I want the static background DoF but when i turn on the DoF my character blurs with the background.

Wouldn't those settings just mimic what Dynavision does and still cause the same heating up issue?

try this MCM settings for this mod:

      Master DoF: Dynamic
      Master DoF Strength: 0.7
      DoF Strength for Combat: 0
      DoF Strength for Interior: 80
      DoF Strength for Running: 70
DoF Focus is off with Master DoF = Dynamic; if using Master DoF Static set DoF Focus Method to Sharp with speed setting 1.5.

Why do people like DOF effects? Honest question. If it mimics how the eye focuses on objects in the foreground, why do we need this effect at all? Doesn't the eye just do it naturally anyway?? Or is DOF mostly used for screen shots?Just curious

      Hello,

have you ever seen a picture where you see deep of field? I guess yes. Now try to make a picture with a pencil child style. In a 2D representation your eyes cannot focus on distance but the one from eyes to screen. In cinema/photography camera lens do it for you, but in a videogame you can't, as it shows all elements with wide depth of field, except if you "simulate it" using different techniques.

Anyway, the camera lenses have different behaviour than human eyes. So in part it is for having a sense of "reality" and in part for the looks (camera -photography/cinema- approach).

I see, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the response. I guess the problem for me is that with DOF I can't choose to focus my eye on a distant object in the periphery because of the blur. Oh well. That's why it's great to have options, right? To each their own

The thing about DOF is, it actually doesn't simulate what we see with our eyes at all; it simulates how cameras reproduce images.

If you look around you, you will almost never see a DOF type effect. The only way to see a DOF with your eyes is to place objects directly in line with one another but with different distances -- put your hand in front of your face then look past it down the street for example and try to focus on your hand and a distant house at the same time.

If you don't do something that extreme, DOF is pretty much impossible to encounter in your day to day life. Your eyes and your visual cortex work together to ensure that the moment you look at something, it's in focus. Everything around the object may be out of focus, but you don't notice because your attention is on the object that is in focus.

Cameras of course cannot do this -- they focus at whatever depth the lens focal length is set to, and that focal length affects the entire frame. As a result, we see DOF if filmed footage all the time.

So when games implement DOF, they aren't simulating what we see in our day to day life. They are simulating what we see when we watch a movie or a TV show.

it does make crappy backgrounds look better by blurring out.
Also gives more depth to air, but it just my personal opinion.

I think it's a nice looking effect to have when you're wandering around contemplating the scenery.
However, if you prefer an action-based experience, I suppose this effect becomes more of an inconvenience.
The good thing about this mod is that it allows you to get the best of both worlds, if you think they're worth it.

I personally use this because Skyrim's distant views are ugly as hell in my end. Blurs hides them!

I have myopia, so blurry until very close looks more like reality to me. Also blur softens sharp edges of polygonal meshes or low quality textures, which disturb immersion for me. Screens are pretty much two-dimensional, so no, the eye doesn't naturally do this in a videogame.

I hardly notice anything even when tweaking settings to almost every combination. It's only noticeable if something is an inch away from the player's face. I wish it were more noticeable like the Fallout variants.

Am I the only one not getting the dynamic setting working properly? Any kind of object I aim at (be it a rock, playermodel or even a mountain), it won't be registered.
The only part which is registering is, when aiming at the ground where you will see the DoF slightly sliding towards the point you are aiming at (as it should be).

Are there any mods hindering or messing around with this mod? Even if it has been placed at the bottom of the mod list (and loading over and overriding everything else)? Or is it just the SKSE screwing things over due to this mod being quite old?
