This patch hides Apachii's hairstyles that feel too modern, stylized, or out of place with Skyrim’s Nordic aesthetic. It doesn’t delete any files, just disables them in Racemenu. Apachii Sky Hair is required.

This mod disables 39 female and 17 male hairstyles from Apachii Sky Hair that don’t feel very lore-friendly or feel a bit out of place in the original game. Ideal for players who want customization without breaking immersion.
This work is not a criticism of the Apachii Sky Hair team at all — it simply makes character creation a little less overwhelming for those who have to scroll through 100 styles but only want to use the more lore-friendly ones. This mod aims to maintain both aesthetic and thematic consistency with the world of Skyrim.
What is considered a "lore-friendly" hairstyle?
This mod aims to maintain both aesthetic and thematic consistency with the world of Skyrim. To decide which hairstyles to keep and which to remove, the following criteria were applied:
Cultural and medieval setting Hairstyles with modern, urban, extravagant, fashion-model-like, or impractical designs for a medieval or Nordic setting were removed.
Consistency with playable races Hairstyles were prioritized based on whether they looked natural or plausible for humans, elves, Nords, and other Tamrielic races. Overly stylized or out-of-place styles were avoided.
Functionality and practicality Hairstyles that would be impractical in combat or daily life in Skyrim (e.g., massive buns, overly elaborate forms, or hair with artificial structures) were excluded.
Consistency with factions and classes Some styles were kept based on their plausibility for specific social classes or in-game factions (e.g., nobles, bandits, mages, etc.). For example, slicked-back styles were preserved if they could represent a noble, commander, or respected warrior.
FAQ
Q: You removed some hairstyles I liked!
A: I'm sorry. I might have removed it by accident, or simply felt it didn’t quite fit the world of Skyrim. However, you can just disable this mod and everything will go back to how it was in the original Apachii Sky Hair. This mod simply hides styles from the character creation menu — it doesn’t delete any assets.
Q: Some styles still feel a bit off.
A: There are some hairstyles in a "gray area" (they might not be used by a Nordic warrior or a low-class farmer, but could fit someone of nobility, like an aristocrat, a king, or a scholar). I chose not to remove those. I'd rather eliminate only the more obviously out-of-place styles, while keeping those that might still look good or appropriate in certain contexts or for certain races. The goal is just to make character creation less overwhelming, not to force my personal definition of lore-friendliness onto players.
