I've been searching for a few hours, and can't find two members of the Half Moon herd at *all.* I use Convenient Horses, so I was able to claim one mare and the lead mare, but the stallion and the other mare have disappeared. Any hints as to their actual range? Thanks.

Do you have to unpack the BSA to make it an ESL?

      so...tbh. I'm not 100% sure... maybe like 70%
It hasn't worked for me before when not unpacking the BSA. So now as a preventative measure, I just unpack it because it takes like 2 seconds.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible. Those horses look like they have custom meshes, and I doubt the textures from this mod would map correctly to them or vice versa.

I fell in love with this mod from the first time I met them, when I rode my stallion past the moon sawmill and these guys ran out of the forest, it was so cute! Thank you for making Skyrim even more alive and dynamic. There are a bunch of other mods for taming and using horses, but I like this mod, admiring the wild herd of beautiful and free animals is priceless. And I don't want to use them otherwise =)

This mod has a Beautiful Horses, their behavior is Very similar to real wild horses. I do appreciate that.
    But,

This Mod is NOT Immersive at ALL!
Yes, there are herds of wild horses IRL.
Yet wild horses throughout the world are culled on a regular basis. I live in the State of Utah within the USA, we have several Wildhorse herds in the southwest of our State. We have, on a yearly basis, a culling and the sale of the wild ponies.

If this mod had Any pretense to being Immersive it would start with allowing the occasional capturing, and domestication/adoption of one of its animals. I would Not suggest allowing the herd to be culled, or hunted, to extinction, but at least a percentage of the number of horses the herd has at that particular moment.

One of the sole reasons I originally wanted to use this model was so that I could have a source of horses for myself and my followers, especially since the amount of time it takes for horses to respawn at the stables, is the to me, more than too long.
I found as I adventurer out in the world, at least one of my or my follower's horse is killed occasionally. If I have semi-recently purchased a horse, I cannot purchase another horse from that stable, and we know how few stables there are in Skyrim.
In an adventurer's life, the lifespan of a horse can be fairly short, they often are killed during combat. It may be the AI, but sometimes the enemy solely attack's the horses.

Make this mod Immersive so that we can cull from the herds of Skyrim, or as another poster mentioned, make it possible for them to be able to be hunted, for those playing as a hunter and/or using the Realistic Needs & Diseases mod, as well as any mod that monitors how much you've eaten and translates that into your Health and Stamina.

I am trying to make this play-through of my game more Immersive than last time, and one of the things, in that play-through, that partially destroyed my feeling of Immersion is the fact that I could not capture and tame one of the wild horses from your Mod.

Please help us with Immersion, make this mod more Immersive, Please.

Skyrim is an alternate fantasy take on our own timeline, even if we assume all nords and imperials are monsters and want horse tar tar and leather bond adhesive more than natural beauty or a sweet ride they lack the industry to cull all herds. Even if blight and predators killed most wild steeds there is accountability for horses with slain riders returning to the wilds spooked and dissoriented to form new herds.(civil war..) Nothing about this breaks immersion and lack of inclusion of wild horses and birds likely were due to lack of time, resources to spend on further aesthetic and concern of average pc/console hardware limitations in the final stretch leading to release. As far as mods made of pure passion, free of charge this one is great and not out of its element. As for immersion, if you are really caught up on the state of the horses being essential just toggle it in the ini and take my harsh judgement with you. There are some breaches in realism I agree with and dead horses are a sad sight.

If you install Immersive Horses, it allows you to make a horse that you ride for about 2 mins or so become your permanent horse, and you can create a herd of owned horses and also assign some of your herd to your followers :D

Sounds like this mod might be what you're looking for! https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13402

The only thing is it mentions that this feature is only available to vanilla horses, so you may need to make some edits in tesedit? Not sure... Haven't tested it out of the box yet, but I intend to!

as far as i can tell, immersive horses dosent allow you to claim the horses in this mod. i have no idea how to change that and would appreciate it if someone could tell me how or do it themselves.

It depends on the horse race, and these use a different race sadly :( - Would be awesome if there was a patch...

so let me get this straight pendragg0n in a fantasy world where there is a civil war and dragons, culling would occur in areas so fraught with peril that only you the dragonborne are willing to go? so... magic culling? no wait psychic culling... right? dude... dont be that guy

I realise this is an old post, but seriously?
I just love these people who drop blocks of text, ranting about a mod that somebody has decided to share with the community, not because of bugs, not because it doesn't do what what it says on the label, but because the author clearly didn't anticipate their very particular, personal requirements.
Instead of being so demanding and self-entitled, if you don't like an author's vision, learn how to make mods yourself (you don't have any files to your name, so I'm going to assume you haven't attempted to actually create mods).

There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism, but this is nothing more than a self-entitled whine. It's because of people exactly like you that authors sometimes just throw in the towel and hide all their work.

Anyone found a way to make this fully compatible with Convenient Horses? The one thing missing is the ability to tame and then saddle or add horse armor to these horses.

I've been using this mod for ages, and it'll always be in my mod list. When I'm setting up a new game, using one of the horses to ride is very convenient for checking out the landscape mods and such. The herds always look so nice and add so much to the environment, and will occasionally take out an enemy for you. Oh, and if you want a laugh you can always ride one of the foals!

I really love the horses from this mod and coming across them in the wilds is a nice sight to behold. However the other day my immersion broke when the Stallion tanked a dragon attack for me and never died :(

My mistake I know as it does say essential in on the front page of the mod, but just felt a bit off when actually seeing in-game. Still they are beautiful addition to the wilds of Skyrim.

As of right now I'm able to ride, train, and relocate the entire herd using the mod convenient horses..so far no bugs or clashes other than not being able to rename or put equipment on the horses..(trying to find a work around, mod, patch etc holler if you have ideas) Currently relocated the falkreath mill herd to Lakeview Manor. Have Draco's Hearthfire Extension along with a couple others. and the towns of PInewatch and Oakwood I drop between 15-20 fps but nothing really noticeable. Overall Great Mod  Love the mod would recommend whether you have a small or large mod list it will fit in and the textures on the horses are beautiful and blow vanilla and creation club wild horses out of the water. Would love to see some more from the author in regards to this mod or others like it.
