I created this boat style player home back in March 2024, inspired by a player home that I had downloaded near Riverwood called Small Cabin, but it wasn't a boat, just a small box style home with some oversized stairs going up to the roof of it and, the oddly out of place dock like details not near enough to the water, well it just some of the details made me think of the top quarters on a boat, so I actually moved that player home to the location this mod would be in. At the time it was just going to be a move because it conflicted with several other player homes in that Riverwood spot.
But once I got it over to the edge of the water between Dragonbridge and Solitude is when I decided to just make my own home, using this one as inspiration. There's a few pieces that I used from this home still in my mod, the squared wood beams and the safe and the whole roof thing was turned into the spot where the captain pilots the boat. And so the idea of a drunken tugboat operator at some time ago got the winch hooked up to the dock and had an accident, all because I wanted to use that chain thing and Skyrim doesn't have much in way of boat styles, hid the back end of it so that it could by chance have a more squared rear and not sharply tapered as all the boats in Skyrim are, so is how I came upon the ridiculous story and with the wrecked dock nearby.
Is not perfect in that sense, but was an idea that I liked and went with for the best that I could do with what I had to work with. Is not completely finished as I had intended to add some dwemer pipes and motor looking things but never got around to it, ran out of steam for creativity at the time and stopped working on it, maybe one day will get back to it, but as it is, while a tad bare, it is an old wreck afterall.
