    I need translations for Japanese for the following:

    "Lossy Capture!"
    "Capture Souls in smaller Soul Gems at a loss"
    "For example: A Grand Soul in a Common Soul Gem as a Common Soul"

    Hello, I would like to know more about added config book. I chose the option to remove the book in the "Why is this thing still here" choice, but the default option is still set to "No" and the book has not been removed. Have I misunderstood what that option does? Additional info: v. 4.8 is installed and "Allow Removal" in the readme is set to true.. SSEdit hasn't shown any mod conflicts besides Adamant on the Soul Trap magic effect, which I let this mod be the winner of.

      tldr; The setting doesn't remove the book, it makes removing the book be allowed.


      In order to ensure that users without access to the MCM menu have a means of changing the settings, a script is run whenever a game is loaded that puts the book in your inventory if you do not have one already.
      The setting controls if running the script is on or off.
      Opening the MCM menu also turns that script off automatically during initialization.

    hey im probly askin sumthin stupid.. bt in description it mentions "soul bumping" n i cant find what that is anywer on web. culd sum1 plz enlighten me?

      Soul Bumping:

      ASGM does not allow souls to be captured in gems that are not the same size.
      That is the entire point of ASGM. ASGM does not have a soul bumping
      option.
      Grand Soul Gem + Petty Soul -> Grand Soul Gem

      GIST and YASTM allow souls to be trapped in gems that are larger than them, just like
      in Vanilla. If a soul of the same size as a partially filled gem is
      captured and all other gems of that size in the inventory are completely
      filled, the smaller soul is 'bumped' into a smaller gem so the
      correctly sized soul can be captured in the now empty gem of the same
      size.
      Grand Soul Gem (Petty) + Greater Soul + Common Soul Gem -> Common Soul Gem (Petty) + Grand Soul Gem (Greater)

      GIST does this by adding a new soul gem for every possible size combo, eg.: Common Soul Gem (Common), Common Soul Gem (Lesser), Common Soul Gem (Petty), Common Soul Gem (empty), which I consider to be a bad, wasteful way of doing things.

      YASTM does this by altering the metadata in the existing item just like Vanilla does instead of adding 50+ new items, which is why I recommend YASTM, and do not recommend GIST, if you must have an ASGM-like mod with soul bumping.

    Has anyone else encountered an issue with using soul cloak? I seem to be gaining soul gems whenever a target is hit with the effects of soul cloak, even my own flame atronarch.. I'll go from a handful of each type of gem to hundreds of each type within seconds.

    I've sorted through my mods and plugins looking for some form of conflict or error, but no dice. The function of this mod aside, soul trapping (soul cloak included) works fine and doesn't spam gems when I test without this mod, so I'm certain this is the cause.. I have no idea how such a ridiculous bug could occur from this, though. 

    I hope this isn't met with intellectual condescension or sarcasm!

      That is caused by a bug that was fixed in version 4.8
      Update the mod and you should no longer have that problem.

      I have the same exact bug when I use soulcloak. Hundreds of black soul gems appear when i slay someone ! it is not even funny anymore since it is slowing me down and I am on version 4.8.. Any ideas ?

      Upgrade to 4.8. You are not on 4.8.

    Little confused by the requirement listed for the Papyrus mod. It says for Mod-added gem features, does that mean you only need it if you have other mods doing stuff with soul gems or is it meant to actually be a hard requirement for this? I'd go right ahead and just add both just to be safe but I am seeing on its page that a lot of people are having issues with it in the current or recent patches.

      You do not need Papyrus if you do not have any mods that add soul gems. Keep in mind that the Anniversary Edition does include such mods.

    I've noticed when used with TrueHud's item pick-up notifications, it always tells you you've picked up a Grand Soul Gem whenever filling any
    soul gem.
    Not true of course and only a minor conflict/error between the UI. I have one in my inventory atm, so I suppose it's just picking
    up on that. Happens even after a reload.

    Otherwise, great mod.
    Put a Greataxe of Souls through two mudcrabs, both souls filled the lowest possible gem! Endorsed. Happy reaping!

      I am not responsible for incorrect behaviour occurring in a different mod. If you want it fixed, talk to TrueHud about it, the problem is occurring in their code.

      Yup its a known issue with TrueHUD it ignores the papyrus -hide switch so anything added to inventory will appear onscreen regardless

    For anyone experiencing the disappearing Azura's Star/Black Star, try either enabling both "shut up" options in MCM, or have the star absorb only grand souls. It solved the issue for me.

      Can't believe it's still a bug and can't believe that this solved the problem for me (specifically enabling both shut up options and the grand soul filling) . Just wanted to thank you!

      It's definitely not because of the shut up options. I'll look into the OnlyGrand function and see if there's anything obvious there, but I have to say I've never been able to reproduce this bug.

      I too lost my black star. I changed MCM settings after that, but i cannot say which options are responsible and i was not necessarily using the mod defaults.

      Also if i try to remove the mod i cannot load the save because of instant crash. Maybe there could be MCM option to prepare for an uninstall and close all scripts or something?
      In any case i'll keep trying with "Only black souls" and "Filled star" both enabled. Why would i want a non-grand soul in that anyways...

      I've never had my Black Star (or Azura's Star) disappear during any of my games or testing. I can't fix a bug that I can't reproduce.

      My guess is some other mod is messing with this one, but unless one of you people getting this bug do what I say to do in the relevant bug report, I CAN NOT fix this problem, because I can't even get the problem to happen.

      I've also never had my game crash after removing this mod, but if someone wants to point me in the direction of a tutorial on making an uninstall script, I'll be happy to write one and update the mod.

      doesnt work for me for whatever reason. all options work except the main thing: not putting lesser souls in my larger gems

      Your problem is most likely caused by the soul trap script in your installation is not the one from this mod.

    hello, when i capture a soul, the soul gems themselves in my inventory show up on my skyui loot history thing? is that supposed to happen?

      I have no idea, as I don't know how SkyUI's loot history works. At a guess, I would assume anytime an item is added to your inventory, SkyUI puts that item in the loot history. I would imagine that exchanging an unfilled soul gem for a filled soul gem, which are different items with different IDs, would count as "adding an item to your inventory".

      You'll have to ask the SkyUI people to be certain, but I don't think it's anything you need to worry about.

    I never really got into enchanting due to me not knowing the full soulgem rank chart, now its much more noob friendly, thanks very cool!
