    INIGO SE is here!

Get Inigo for the original version of Skyrim HERE. The current SE version is essentially the same as V2.3 for the

original Skyrim, with a few tweaks and minor additions. Check the change log for details.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Update instructions:

    • 1. Make sure he isn't riding, waiting, or relaxing.
    • 2. Save the game using the save menu and then quit to the desktop.
    • 3. Replace the Inigo.esp and Inigo.bsa files with the new versions.
    • 5. For those that use any kind of patcher, ASIS etc, be sure to re-run your patcher.
    • 6. Restart the game and continue from the save you made.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Changes:

    • Inigo has been edited in the new CK, tested in SSE, and cleaned with SSEEdit. Landscape edits are intentional. Inigo does not require cleaning.
    • Inigo's eyes were re-built in line with SSE's new meshes.
    • You can now refresh the aliases of npcs that Inigo can talk to with a new option found in the Talking section of the "Mind if I ask you something?" topic if one of them has been altered by another mod. The new option is "Think about the people you'd like to talk to. Maybe you're forgetting someone?" (Please read the description page section on npc scenes before reporting an issue.)
    • A new way to start the spider conversation has been added for those who use a spider replacement mod. It will now be available once you've settled the matter of your shared past, providing Inigo has fought a number of mudcrabs.
    • All random dialogue quests can be shut down manually with an option that appears at the top of his main topic list if one of them is running when it shouldn't.
    • Countless lines have been re-conditioned (many fired at a slightly different rate in the SE and have been adjusted to take this into account).
    • A new note has been added called "A load on my mind" that triggers his random loading screens when in Inigo's inventory. Remove it if you don't want to see the custom Inigo loading screens.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Placing Mr D on Inigo's belt in V2.4 -

Since an Inigo MCM isn't currently possible for the Special Edition, CdCooley has kindly added a way for you to place Mr D on Inigo's belt without it (on by default). The guy's a genius, what can I say. Use the console command below, replacing the # with the number corresponding with the option you prefer: (0 = not visible, 1 = large back, 2 = small back, 3 = small front)

    setpqv InigoStatus ShowMrD #

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CDcooley has also added a few new commands for recovering Inigo and his gear. See the "I lost him!

I lost his stuff!" section of the FAQ on the description page for details.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Watch this video guide to learn about Inigo's most important features

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WARNING: Do not try to control Inigo with options from other mods.
    You will break his brain!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Watch the User Guide Video and read the FAQ before asking a question or reporting an issue.

Vilja is now available on SE. Grab her here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6722/?

She and Inigo are great friends and have hundreds of scenes together (see Vilja page for info on how to introduce them).

    WHEN IS V3 COMING???

I'm currently working on V3 (where Inigo's quest will continue and end). If I have to stop for some unexpected reason this post will disappear. V3 is massive. It will take as long as it takes. If you ask when it's coming out you will just be referred to this message.

You can find V3 preview material at http://friendsofinigo.com/exclusive_v3_preview_material

Hello, just wondering does Inigo have any dialogue for any of the DLC's? Literally can't play the game without him, he is such an incredible addition and how followers should have been done in the game itself. He's so reactive and surprising and very lifelike, so I am confused whether or not he is reactive to the DLC or if It is a bug on my end. If it ain't a bug and he has no dialogue for DLC, can I ask if that is something you will be adding in a future update? I'm sorry if this question has been asked a million times and if this has annoyed you but I have only bought the special edition recently and was delighted to hear Inigo was out for it, but never knew if Inigo had dialogue for the Oldrim DLC so i was just curious :)

Inigo does not have dedicated dialogue for the DLCs, no, but quite a bit of his location-type dialogue will still fire, and you can definitely take him with you for all of it, even the Soul Cairn and Apocrypha once you have his spell. I just imagine he is quieter in order to sense any danger coming in the unfamiliar environments. He does know a Hearthfire house is your home, while inside it, as it was marked as a player home, and he recognizes crossbows, as there was a keyword for that in vanilla Skyrim.

Currently Gary (Smartbluecat) is working hard on Inigo V3.0, which will have an extensive quest, a whole new land area, and a great deal else. After that is out, and finished, then he plans to tackle DLC content if possible. He didn't want those without the DLC to be restricted from using Inigo. (Inigo was started back when that was a common thing.)

    Hey Smartbluecat

I just wanted to pop in and say my opinion about Inigo:

Of all the follower mods I've had in my game, none has come close to the standard that my dear blue friend has put up. I know, "That's corky as all hel dude", but none the less, it's true. I've played with Hoth, Vilja, Sofia and all the others, but I've always ended up having to make Inigo fit into my game. He is the only one that has made it feel like you were in an actual and developing friendship, and it now feels wrong to play without him.

I know that it might seem like I forget that he would not be here without you, but of course he wouldn't. That is why I give my utmost and sincerely heartfelt thanks, to you, for giving us all this amazing friend, and for all the love that you've obviously put into our sword swinging, spider smashing, song singing and super dashing Blue Katjhit.

    Thank you, so very much

I've noticed something about Inigo that you've touched on as well. As amazing as Vilja is as a companion (and really I think she's the only other companion mod that to me is equal to Inigo) there have been a few play throughs that Vilja just didn't fit. Her disposition is sometimes too sweet and good-natured. When I play as a restoration mage, monk, paladin, or general hero-type she's a great fit for the type of follower my toon would recruit (and swoon). Inigo though fits my characters even when I go rogue, shadowscale, sneak thief, etc.
The fact that my morality is his morality means I keep him around a lot longer than I would Vilja. I'm always tempted to use both because of how Inigo and Vilja interact, but depending on the sort of character I'm using it can seem like Vilja pushes back against certain kinds of decisions whereas Inigo finds ways to agree with me much of the time thereby being a more consistently supportive ally (but without coming across as a fawning "yes man"). No matter how I play, he still becomes my character's best friend in the end. I can't wait to see where V3 takes him so I can continue to feel like I'm his friend as well.

Inigo: (referring to Nazeem, after a conversation that involved the twisting off of heads) ".... I think he wet himself."

Nazeem: *runs off down the road*

Kharjo: "Make sure to pull your bow all the way back to get the most out of your shot"

I love these moments of perfect, unscripted timing.. made all the more frequent by the courtesy of RDO..

Inigo's about to get a whole new load of attention:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A57MAG8y4Y

Gopher's most likely going to add him in his upcoming SE playthrough, he was...uhm....encouraged by some rather enthousiastic Inigo fans. I might have been an occasional member of that group.

      @Falki,
Yep.. I noticed that going through the page earlier. There are also, of course, the typical sorts of comments from people who don't like Inigo, but they definitely seem to be in the minority. My guess is that those people either prefer followers that are nothing more than glorified pack mules, they have a bias against Khajiit, they'd rather have some vacuous bimbo, or all of the above.
But hey... their loss, and hopefully Gopher will, in this particular case, listen to the majority.

Hm, one shouldn't be bothered by that, but that one guy calling Inigo a "blue Kharjo clone" reminded me too much of what Gary said in his Nexus interview, about seeing his work misrepresented bothers him most. I pretty much feel the same way. If someone doesn't like Inigo, oh well, but stating something so objectively false is irritating. So yeah, rather focus on the support he gets from the majority.

You can tell Inigo likes his women with a little animal magnetism, such as Brenda the Bear, Mjoll the Lioness, Sofia the ... wait, better not use that term - sounds too Trumpian. How about Sofia the Maneater? Don't think maneater is politically incorrect.

And what about Susanna or Angi or Vex?`Haelga is clearly a succubus. Maneater is already reserved for Mildred, don't take it away from her or she'll chase you with her butcher knife, and if Sofia belongs in that list is quite debatable anyway

I've been running with Inigo for about sixty hours now and his quest isn't starting. I've tried sitting and talking to him many times in player homes and inns. I've had the story of his attempted suicide, but he's run out of things to tell me about himself now. He's never had headaches. Any ideas why this might be and what I can do to kick start the quest?

From the front page of the mod:
      "Mini quest (activation and length)
Select 'Tell me more about your past.' to learn about Inigo's journey so far. You can listen to his story in one go or a little at a time. It won't repeat until it's finished. Once his tale is told, it will disappear from the topic window unless you are seated somewhere safe with Inigo. If you've heard about Inigo's past and discovered his brother's name a short quest can begin at random while you're adventuring across Skyrim."

Once you know his brother's name, his quest can begin, but only in the main Skyrim world space (not in a cave, not in a room, not in a house, not in a mod-added world space, not in a dungeon, etc.). You also have to not be riding, fighting, sneaking, in danger, etc, and have to be not too far ahead of him. So the fastest way to get it to trigger is to leisurely wander around the forests, fields, or roads with him staying away from trouble. It triggered for me when I stopped to loot all the barrels on the exterior Riften docks, and then do a bit of fishing and herb-gathering. Those who ride, sneak, or fast-travel everywhere are usually the ones that have problems with it triggering. Hopefully that will help.

Is there any way to turn the aggression off towards me? I keep getting attacked by him in combat for random reasons and it's messing up my quick saves. Other then that I enjoy it. I do wish I was good enough to configure his stats a bit. On legendary setting he is one shooting almost everything with just an iron dagger. Myself included lol

If he's attacking you then it's because you've hit him many times during the fight or some other mod is super-charging his aggression.

If you're playing on legendary settings, try clicking on him in the console and typing "forceav AttackDamageMult 0.25" to make him do 1/4 the usual damage and then adjust higher or lower based on your preference. No matter what difficulty setting I use I generally have to adjust that to different values as we gain levels to keep him "balanced" compared to my own abilities.

Going to post this on Inigo and Vilja's page as well....

I've been getting a CTD seemingly at random. Enough times now that one thing is common to all of them....

Let me set the scene ... We are traveling either on foot or on horse. It is raining and we are not in an area that has snow. Inigo starts by saying "I love the snow, but it builds up in my ears" (paraphrased) Vilja then is supposed to comment. This is where the crash happens.

I'm thinking the problem is twofold.
    - Inigo is talking about snow when it is only raining and not in snowy area.
    - Vilja is making a check for snow before making her comment and it crashes when that fails possibly.

I haven't looked in xEdit to track down any specific dialogue or any thing. I just want to put this out there and see if anyone else has experienced it.
    Thank you

All of the Inigo lines and scenes for the interactions with Vilja are hosted on the Vilja side, and that mod contains all of the line conditioning for them. I haven't seen any reports of this before, but it may have been reported on the Vilja side.

First time I've seen someone report this as well. As Eolhin said, the Vilja mod hosts all interaction between her and Inigo, but I've seen this scene so many times without issues, that I can say for sure the scene works fine, maybe it's an interference with your weather mod. I'd check for the conditions of this scene in xEdit and then see if your weather mod may cause any issues for how the scene is conditioned.

I tried installing Inigo for this playthrough, but he's got a red glow all over his skin. I thought it might be a conflict with WICO or Masculine Khajiit Textures, but the problem persists even with those mods uninstalled. Here's a screenshot: https://imgur.com/OQDoKmN
But the red gets even brighter outside in the sunlight. Any ideas before I give up on him? :\

It looks more like the red glow of a magic effect than a texture problem. Haven't played Skyrim in a while so I don't know if Mfg Console is available for SE, but if it is, use it to check Inigo for any spells or magic effects. Do you use any gameplay or racial overhauls that might alter the Khajiit race?

I have to agree, that looks like a magic effect glow (though it could always be a glow-effect added to a texture). He shouldn't have anything like that on his own, so likely some mod has put a spell on him in some manner. Unfortunately, MFG Console has not been ported, as far as I know. It requires SKSE. That is now available for SE, but only an early version yet, and the author (kapaer) has not been responding to all the requests for a port, or posted anything I have seen. If an alias captures Inigo, the sv console command can show what mod it is, but it does not show things like scripts putting a spell effect (or racial ability, or any other kind of magical alteration structured as a spell) on all teammates, or all Khajiit, etc, as far as I know. Beyond that, what falki said, do you have any overhauls that might change stats, or racial abilities, etc, on Khajiits?

That is actually a fair point! Now I think about it, I too would hate to have been hit with every problem I've ever tried to help sort. o.O

Anyway, I did just try to look for the precise thread where I read that, but even with decent search skills, that place is a nightmare when you are trying to dig something up.. proverbial "needle in haystack." And since I never left any comments at the time, I can't even sift through my own posting history.

You don't need to find it, it worked, that is proof enough! And you would probably have better luck hunting in the comments and info of NAT, then trying to dig up a detail like that on Reddit, if you wanted to look into it further. If it isn't already in the comments under NAT (or bug reports, readme, front page, etc), then someone should probably mention it to the NAT author.
