    INIGO SE is here!

     

    Get Inigo for the original version of Skyrim HERE. The current SE version is essentially the same as V2.3 for the

    original Skyrim, with a few tweaks and minor additions. Check the change log for details.

    Update instructions:

    • 1. Make sure he isn't riding, waiting, or relaxing.
    • 2. Save the game using the save menu and then quit to the desktop.
    • 3. Replace the Inigo.esp and Inigo.bsa files with the new versions.
    • 5. For those that use any kind of patcher, ASIS etc, be sure to re-run your patcher.
    • 6. Restart the game and continue from the save you made.

    Changes:

    • Inigo has been edited in the new CK, tested in SSE, and cleaned with SSEEdit. Landscape edits are intentional. Inigo does not require cleaning.
    • Inigo's eyes were re-built in line with SSE's new meshes.
    • You can now refresh the aliases of npcs that Inigo can talk to with a new option found in the Talking section of the "Mind if I ask you something?" topic if one of them has been altered by another mod. The new option is "Think about the people you'd like to talk to. Maybe you're forgetting someone?" (Please read the description page section on npc scenes before reporting an issue.)
    • A new way to start the spider conversation has been added for those who use a spider replacement mod. It will now be available once you've settled the matter of your shared past, providing Inigo has fought a number of mudcrabs.
    • All random dialogue quests can be shut down manually with an option that appears at the top of his main topic list if one of them is running when it shouldn't.
    • Countless lines have been re-conditioned (many fired at a slightly different rate in the SE and have been adjusted to take this into account).
    • A new note has been added called "A load on my mind" that triggers his random loading screens when in Inigo's inventory. Remove it if you don't want to see the custom Inigo loading screens.

    Placing Mr D on Inigo's belt in V2.4 -

    Since an Inigo MCM isn't currently possible for the Special Edition, CdCooley has kindly added a way for you to place Mr D on Inigo's belt without it (on by default). The guy's a genius, what can I say. Use the console command below, replacing the # with the number corresponding with the option you prefer: (0 = not visible, 1 = large back, 2 = small back, 3 = small front)

    I've been using Inigo for about a few years now, and he's easily my favorite companion and mod. I can't play skyrim without Inigo, it's just not the same. Thank you for making such an amazing follower and for updating him so much. When I started using him, I never knew there would one day be a massive update in the works ike V3 and I can't wait.

    I have a sort of technical question - not sure if someone here answering questions would know: how do Inigo's comments seem to trigger less frequently than other follower mods? Is there a timer, such as he'll only fire a comment every so many gameplay minutes? I've tried a couple other followers but it seems like they can't wait to tell you everything on their mind all at once. Although their comments might be relevant it doesn't feel immersive when they won't stop talking (unlike Inigo who will make a relevant comment every now and then).

    I've been considering trying to make myself a follower (probably never really going to complete it, but I'm having fun poking around CK). But I'm not sure how to put parameters on them to keep them from chatting all the time, which seems to be an issue with other followers.

      As I understand it, most of Inigo's comments are all extensively conditioned, rather then being put in the greeting category, or such. So they will only fire when appropriate, regardless how much time has passed since the last comment. Many comments are conditioned to only occur on certain days of the week, or other such conditions to prevent their repeating too often. Essentially, Gary used a quite different system from what is usually used for custom followers. He also used custom condition checks where the variable being checked can be set, by a quest stage, or the answer the player gives in a conversation, so that whole categories of comments can be turned on, or off, depending on what you have done with him, or what you answered when talking to him. This serves as his memory, so when he talks, he seems to remember what has happened with you, or at least some of it.

      You should read the articles Gary wrote about making Inigo. They should answer some of your questions. They are in the articles section under the LE Inigo. Then when you are ready, take a look at how he is put together in the CK.

    I know there's no release date for version 3 but is development coming along well like is it possible will we get it this year or is that rather unlikely?

      *sighs* I know he is working on it, I know he is progressing, and isn't stuck on something. But I can't tell you whether it will be out this year or not. I think it might, it is certainly possible, but I can't accurately predict that. Even Gary can't accurately predict that. Which is why he hasn't given a release date. I wish I could tell you more, but that is all I have.

      Thank you for answering I don't know why the sigh I don't find it unreasonable wondering if progress is being made or not I mean mod authors get burn out and leave all the time or circumstances change for people and they simply cant work on it even if they wanted to I mean to be perfectly frank for all I knew the mod maker could've been dead (glad they're not) I mean from December 21 of 2017 to May 20 of 2018 with no new information is a long time I don't know the mod maker's life or struggles but I don't think it would take that long to make post saying "Hey am I alive and stilling making progress" no need for specifics or details just that little bit of information can go a long way for people

      Ah, I see part of the confusion... That link, that leads to the preview material was put up back then, yes, but more material has been added to that preview since then, at several points. Many bits were added to the preview fairly recently. It is an evolving thing, not fixed since the sticky was posted.

      Edit: Also, five months is not that great a swath of time, given the size of the mod being developed.

      Edit 2: Anyway, there are several of us in regular communication with Gary for purposes of solving problems and answering questions, and we report back to the community on a regular basis. The only reason he does not often answer things here himself is because that takes time away from working on the mod. Tech support here is community run in order to spare him every moment we can to work on V3.

    This is by far my favourite follower. Together with Rumarin from iNPC often make me smile. Kinda sad they can't interact with each other. If it was possible I would love to even gift him the house I've bought in Riften. He'd find it more useful than me, a nomad werewolf lmao

    I've been playing quite a while with regular version on SE, and just today I noticed there's SE version of this mod (after few weeks of asking myself why doesn't he want to summon and ride his horse whilst in Solstheim, took me long enough). I can't make it work tho, I follow all steps, but can't load the save without game crashing on me. I do use AFT but I don't use it to control him. Any tips on how to fix it would be appreciated ó.o

      Oh dear... I don't know what it would do, to use the LE version on SE. I am sort of surprised it worked for that long. How exactly are you trying to switch over?

    I have only been playing with Inigo for a few hours and already he is one of the best companions I played with. Vilja finally has some real competition for companion.

      Too bad there aren't multiple reasons why Inigo cannot accept Vilja's arm wrestling challenge.

    If I give Inigo a horse. After he gets off the horse, when he draws his weapon his animation is wrong. Like he's bent backwards looking at the sky. I do use convenient horses although he just turns the horse into his horse. I am confused as to what may be causing it.

    Loading the game out entering a new cells corrects his animation until he rides and dismounts and draws his weapon again.

      Wonder if there may be some other factor at play (such as an interaction between two or more mods) since FNIS 7.0 and Inigo dismounting his horse does not lead to any unusual body contortions in my game.

    don't know if this has been posted before but inigo can't follow me properly he stops in random places and sometimes can't go inside cities or dungeons ...etc don't know if it's a pathing issue or what

      That sounds like a navmesh problem... Inigo can not go where there is no navmesh, or where the navmesh is broken, like any other NPC. Do you have the Unofficial Patch installed? That takes care of a lot of navmesh problems in the base game (Blackreach is especially bad if not repaired - I reported some of those nav-holes to them myself). If you have already done Inigo's brief quest, the reward from that can get him past this kind of problem (you walk in, then summon him once you are past the problem). If not, there is a console command for an emergency summon towards the bottom of the description page of the mod... and in the replies to the post right below this.

      setpqv InigoStatus Recover Inigo (Move him to your position)

      Other then navmesh, if you have mods that add a lot of other NPCs to the game, or move them about more, there can be a pathing-bottleneck because of that. I really recommend the USSEP. If you still have the problem with using that, then report back here.

      USSEP is probably needed for Blackreach to be fixed, then. Unfortunately I'm personally playing in VR which isn't fully compatible with USSEP so I don't find USSEP worth getting. I can manage with Inigo's quest reward instead.

    Getting a weird bug when passing between bruma with inigo, where he loses his weapon and when he unsheathes it makes an ungodly noise that deafens me. any compatabilty patch for bruma that fixes it? The onyl way I seem to get him back to normal is put weapons back into his inventory and change his fighting stance before moving forward the time by an hour

      That is very odd. We have had no other reports of problems with Inigo in Bruma. As long as it is properly navmeshed, he should get along there just as well as in any other mod, or DLC added, territory. He might not talk quite as much, but nothing like what you are describing. What weapon is he using? If it is a custom one, try having him use his default weapons, or a vanilla one, when you enter Bruma, and see if that makes a difference.

      Well Ive been using the morrowloot patch for inigo due to his ebony blade being so powerful and I think it may be the issue. I have also given him vanilla weapons but still having issues, I may try reinstalling

      Yep first try it worked, definately problems with the MLU patch for inigo. I can equip nearly all stuff on him but I think the patch was messing with Inigo's brain a little. Fixed it by removing it for now.
