Thanks for the mod, and one odd occurrence to report:
Was working great and suddenly stopped working for me on Solstheim only. Worked after fast travelling back to mainland - Argonian character if that helps.
Unfortunately that's a repeatable bug. I haven't been able to determine what causes it, other than see those are new worldspaces. For example, it also happens in the water around Castle Volkihar (Dawnguard).
Good news, I checked the records in this mod against Update.ESM and Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp and there was no overlap. So, as long as USSEP loads properly, this mod shouldn't monkey with anything it changes.

A quick test confirmed that the original mod functionality works plus a new Argonian character did not gasp for air when surfacing from lake Ilinalta.

Sorry for the late response. CoVid-19 has been wreaking havoc in my business, not leaving a lot of time for modding.
If you can get permission to make the change from mitchalek, and make the updates yourself, I'll happily add it as an optional download.
So, as long as USSEP loads properly, this mod shouldn't monkey with anything it changes.
