No, it won't work because this preset is specifically placing items from the Requiem tweaks mod.
However, it's very easy to configure your own preset for throwing weapons lite and any other mod, including any custom items. If you're interested in a tutorial, PM me and I'll show you.
You're welcome to try the loading the preset. It might bug out because it will be looking for items that you don't have installed, but it's possible it will give you a skeleton to work with.
To recreate the preset follow these steps:
Make sure you're on the "IED - Custom" menu 1. At the top, Actions > New > Name the item "Knife 1" 2. Under Conditions check "Inventory Item" 3. Click the button by "Additional Items", choose "Add Multiple" 4. Add each tier of item that you want to appear in that slot. If there's no tiers (e.g., steel, dwarven, glass, etc), instead choose "Add One" 5. If you chose to add multiple, items at the top of the list will replace items at the bottom (e.g, a higher tier knife at the top will replace a lower tier knife) 6. Under Limits at the bottom it will say 0 0. Adjust the minimum to 1 7. Select the node you want to attach to and adjust the transform values (I used Spine Upper for chest knives, and Thigh Right for leg knives)
Congrats you've added knife 1. The rest is easier from here, just copy/paste and adjust.
8. Go to Actions > New > "Knife 2" 9. Copy the configuration you just added for Knife 1 10. Paste over the configuration for Knife 2 11. Adjust the minimum for Knife 2 to 2. 12. Adjust the transform to be where you want.
The minimum determines how many you need in the inventory for the item to appear. For example, if I have 3 different knife slots, I want the minimums like so:
Knife 1 = 1 Knife 2 = 2 Knife 3 = 3
This makes it so that the knives only appear if I have the right amount in my inventory. If I only have one knife in inventory, I'll only see one knife and the others will be hidden. If I have 3 knives, I'll see all three knives. Etc.
Keep repeating until you have "enough" knives for what you want. Message me if you get stuck.
thanks for the help man. I am actually plying on lorerim but im setting up a custom list lordbound release. I would also like to try and utilize blacks throwing knife animation, but idk if it can be repuposed as a casting animation
In that case, just download and apply the preset and tweak the items/transforms to fit the items you want to use instead.
I doubt the throwing knives animation will work without changing all casting animations, because knives are technically a spell, but I'm not super familiar with animation modding. Briefly checking the throwing animation mod, it looks like the animation is not just "throwing" a knife, but rather it looks like it's extending the hitbox of the melee weapon ahead into the air, like "throwing" the damage part of the weapon while animating the knives moving forward, but I could be wrong.
If you get it working I would love to hear about it though.
The armor is a retexture of the Dark Brotherhood shrouded armor, found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/93890
The hood and cloak are called Voidcaller hood and Voidcaller cloak, from Windcaller Robes mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/128033
The mask and satchel is from Nirn Necessities (reinforced satchel and loose neck gaiter) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/112481
Thanks, I finally found the hood, even if I had a slight doubt about the colors, but I would have had trouble finding the armor I think. It's very nice.Your build looks very interesting, I'm going to try it. Especially now that I would have the look that goes with it ahah
Is there a specific mod in the lorerim modlist that implements throwing knives? I know there's a couple of mods that implement throwing weapons, but they seem glitchy as fuck. This would be neat to use on a rogue character.
Yes, "Requiem - Nox's Tweaks" (Weapon and Armor Overhaul) is included in Lorerim already. This mod is what adds throwing knives.
You can search for "throwing knives" on the discord to see people talking about build ideas.
Highlights:
Throwing knives appear under "scrolls" in the inventory, since behind the scenes that's how they are implemented
There's a "poison throwing knives" lesser power, allowing you to apply alchemy poisons
There's perks in the marksman skill tree to buff throwing knives
Concentrated poisons perk allows you to apply a poison to more knives at once based on skill. (E.g, if you have 20 skill, one poison bottle will poison two knives. At 40 it will poison three knives. All the way up to poisoning six knives at once at 100 skill).
All of this is included in Lorerim by default. I have not tested any of it in a base Requiem list, so user beware if they try this on anything but Lorerim.
P.S.: Poisoned throwing knife builds are very fun. I'm in the process of writing a Lorerim build guide for it.
Yes, this requires, at minimum "Requiem: Roleplay Overhaul", and "Requiem - Nox's Tweaks" (Weapon and Armor Overhaul).
The throwing knives are added by Nox's tweaks, and that mod requires using the Requiem mod system. To get the knives to display you also obviously need Immersive Equipment Displays (and it's dependencies)
