Is it possible to implement some kind of targeted spell to place hooks inside a player-owned space? Maybe once cast, it can then open the player's inventory and allow them to select what they want to place (linking the item to the hook - possibly limited by type such as Misc), and maybe implement some type of orientation system for perfect placement?
I know about as much about this stuff as politicians know about honesty, so by all means educate me if necessary. I have a thick skin (my wife calls it something else, but this is a polite platform )
No it is not, nor in the title nor in the description I wrote "place anything anywhere you want". Hooks have to be in place, I wrote it in the description, there is also a video where I 'try' to explain how to put more hooks if you want. If you want to have hooks in other places let me know and if I have time I can add them. Even though you can't place object everywhere is still good for me, having all these beautiful paintings on the walls is really nice, instead of just keeping them in a box.
I'm using this with Narrative Loot as suggested, but for some reason every time I try to hang a painting in my house (Lakeview if that makes any difference) it ends up hanging upside down. Anyone else having this problem?
I fixed the wrong orientation for some hooks, I saw your comments just today, sorry about that... The trigger has to be set in the correct orientation and fortunately it has an irregular pattern on the left side so is possible to see if it is wrong or right. You might need to remove the painting from the hook, leave the house save and reload.
A hopefully-small suggestion: modify the animal head object, so that wherever there is normally an animal head, a static wall hook with a lootable animal head is placed instead. That should fix the problem of having to disable animal heads manually, as well as allowing things to be displayed on the walls without having to edit every house. Apologies if this was already considered but is too difficult to implement.
I would like to give the user a more friendly method to show the hook behind the object, but that animal head mount is a static item and it can't be looted by the user, I should find another way to handle it, replacing the mount would create problems with the actual game house system. I need to think about it.

Well I will not be able to do it for every items, sadly every item has different starting position and I need to reposition them when they are placed on the hook, it would be way too much work but for some set of them that share similar mashes that might be possible. I need some idea of what kind of item you would like to put on the wall, and let me know if there is some mods that you want to use it.
