About this mod
Gives Roggi some Block, Light Armor and One-handed perks, increases his level cap to 35 and changes his class so he's actually knowledgeable about shield techniques.

Description
Roggi Knot-Beard is considered one of the worst followers in Skyrim, and for good reason. His class is miner, meaning he's mostly prolificient in skills that are absolutely useless for followers like Enchanting, smithing, alchemy and pretty bad in Blocking, something he's supposed to know about. Also, his level cap is 20, which is terribly low.
This mod aims to improve him. First, Roggi's class has been switched to CombatRanger: this will make him prolificient in Light Armor, Blocking, Archery, One-Handed. In addition, Roggi gets the following perks:
Armsman 2 (+40% more damage with one-handed weapons)
Bladesman 1 (10% chance for swords to do critical damage)
Shield Wall 3 (Blocking is 30% more effective)
Agile Defender 2 (+40% armor rating for Light Armor)
Custom Fit (25% Armor bonus if wearing 4 pieces of Light Armor)
Deflect Arrows
Power Bash
Deadly Bash
Lastly, Roggi's level cap has been set to 35.
FAQ
Q: But, his confidence is still set to Average! What about that?
A: Roggi isn't a warrior, just a commoner that used to travel around. Even with this mod, he might not be the best choice to facetank dragons, deathlords, etc: better stick with Lydia for that. If you want an extra reason to use Roggi, you should consider Follower Dialogue Expansion - Roggi Knot-Beard.
Compatibility
Thanks to the power of SkyPatcher, compatibility is guaranteed: Roggi's record isn't touched, and other mods that distribute spells or perks to NPCs will work fine with this.
