Hey everyone. I want to thank the mod author Mattiewagg for allowing me the permission to port over this mod. I hope you all enjoy it. It's a pretty immersive and light weight mod which makes the game have a bit more purpose with all the gold you have lying around. Please make sure you endorse the mod author and this mod. We thank everyone who uses it and have fun.

I like the idea but it sounds like both this mod and taxes of the nine holds fall short of where i personally feel they need to be to warrant a download.
A tax mod shouldn't let you adjust tax rates on the go
the taxes should be levied both by the civil war faction that owns the hold and by the local jarl with event based stipulations such as:
a stormcloak would be taxed more in an imperial province, a neutral would be taxed normally, and an imperial would get a discount based on faction rank.
a thane would be taxed less than an average citizen by the jarl who was in power when the player became thane but taxed more by a newly installed jarl.

faction taxes should be based on the current sale value of all of the items you have obtained since the last tax collection if possible or a flat tax based on level. hold taxes should be the property tax( although i would base it off of the number of people and horses you have in each hold if possible because this way would probably keep better track of modded homes which generally have a much higher perceived value than the vanilla player-home). or both for a property and houscarl tax.

a Religion fee might also be entertained for characters using shrines within established temples. patrolling guards could also be implemented to randomly demand Road and Bridge tolls. you could perhaps pay your followers. a family upkeep fee could also be entertained.these things could have speech checks for intimidation and persuasion.

tax collection for faction taxes could be just a small patrol of appropriately dressed bounty hunters who go out to find you. hold tax collector could be guards who stay at your house and wait for you. could be nice to persuade for a discount this time, think of the children type thing.

It may be possible to allow you to work off your debt by , sawing logs, mining, chopping wood, repairing walls etc

I dont know how much of what i stated is possible or widely compatible as i am not a modder myself. however i do know that for someone like me to be interested in a mod like this it would have to be thorough and entertaining to avoid being just one more thing to micro manage.
In my opinion it should be less of a what do i do with all of this money mod and more of a financial survival mod.

I love the concept. I've been trying to think up mod-implementable public services that the taxes could fund. Like free stabling for horses, no charge to refill water skins (needs mods), good citizen discounts on inn stays, increased guard patrols outside cities as citizens dutifully pay their taxes... making Skyrim socialist ag... for the first time!

Is there any way to show the current number of horses or houses being taxed? Even a console command would be fine. After increasing and decreasing a couple times, I have no idea what I'm getting taxed for or if it's correct.

I apologize. I have no idea how to script the mod. I'm just a gate keeper who brought it over. If someone would like to help me create the feature. I'd be very open to it. =D

Actually you can check that in the GENERAL STATS --> GENERAL --> scroll down and you will see HORSES OWNED and below that HOUSES OWNED. This "statistic" is part of the vanilla game to count owned properties in cities (like Breezehome). Not sure if it counts also Hearthfire houses. And this mod adds possibility to count-in also mod added houses. I use this mod in my Merchant playthrough where I add "1" after each purchase of a modded house/castle.

This mod is just what I was looking for? Sorry if this was asked before but what happens if you accumulate debt. I understand that it will be remembered and extra gold would be deducted next time but what If you get in debt for a longer period, do you get bounty then?

I don't use that framework, but I'll look into it and see if there might be a patch for it. If you know anyone who's able to make a patch I give permission for a patch.

Can you add to this mod payment for hired mercenaries once per day (or week)?

I might, but it really depends on life. I'm so busy I just don't have time to mod right now.

I've tested the mod without SkyUI and it seems to have troubles with the time.

I found myself paying taxes multiple times during one day, entering and exiting buildings.

But since the house rate are quite low, I, as a socialistic pigdog, am very pleased to finally be able to pay my due taxes.
