To anyone else who can't get the silver hand to start, you need 12 radiant quests done. For some reason the mod's description says 6, no idea why, but it's 12. It doesn't break your playthrough or the companions questline, you don't need a different mod, you don't need to mess with USSEP and you certainly don't need to be a dick about it like half the people in these comments who think they're the smartiest pants.

Thanks for this comment, I was about to install the other newer mod, but I think I'd prefer 12 quests to prove myself anyway. 6 still seems like I just got here.

You can always go into SSEEdit and change the values yourself anyway. It's very easily done.

Hey guys i've been enjoying this mod so far, i love the added Quests it felt like i got to be their leader Quite quickly before, but i'm wondering how much more Quests do i need to finish. i haven't been really counting though i just kept doing a bunch and i still didn't get any further is there a way to know if it's bugged or am did i just do something wrong with the script.      _______ NVM it turns out i just needed to do a few more Quests, the mod worked perfectly for :)

Alright, let's set this straight: the problems people are experiencing with this mod are due to overwritten USSEP changes to the quest record. If you have forwarded the USSEP changes to the plugin in xEdit (as you should), the plugin is identical to the ones found in More Radiant Quests for the Companions (apart from different values for the numbers of quests required, which you can change to your liking too of course). So if you have done your due diligence and resolved conflicts in xEdit there is no need to freak out, the mod should be perfectly fine.

If you don't want to edit it, just use More Radiant Quests for the Companions instead.

I like how these comments are complaining about sharing the fix being "too much work" for OP while doing it themselves is too much work for them, it's a damn xEdit patch, if you don't know how to do it here's your opportunity

Avoid. Obsolete. Does Not Work anymore with modern modding practices. Something to do with Unofficial Patch apparently. Comments are mostly a battle between elitist gatekeepers and casual users having a pissing contest.

I forwarded USSEP changes (thank Blackread below) along with changing the number of radiant quest you have to complete to become a werewolf. Now it should be:
Take Up Arms (starting) > 3 quests > Proving Honor (Shield-Brother) > 3 quests > The Silver Hand (werewolf) > 3 quests > Bloods Honor (final quest)

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pRFWoGyhpARJLYbtdGFkTJ43TdHFolih/view?usp=sharing

Alternatively, you could use More Radiant Quests for the Companions by Phoenix - vanderLuuk which do the same thing.

Edit: vanderLuuk's mod had been taken down as there's a better option now as said by PingHansen. My mod will still work but CCQPR would be a much better option.

      use ?More Radiant Quests
Nope. That mod has recently been taken down, and it is suggested to use "Customizable Companions Questline Progression Requirements" instead.

A consideration is, that "CCQPR" also requires:

      • SKSE64
      • Address Library for SKSE Plugins

      • PapyrusUtil SE - Modders Scripting Utility Functions

while "Earn your stripes" has no such requirements and thus is more palatable to many users.

Thank you for the forwarding fix.

Having finally gotten around to finishing the Companions questline in my current playthrough, I finally tried installing the mod and immediately discovered that there is a new unresolved dependency in LonelyXDark's forwarding-fixed file, namely ArteFake.esp, which seemingly comes with the mod ArteFakes - Unique Artifacts Replacer

Said dependency is not in the original .esp

It looks like I'll be taking a look at CCQPR after all ;o)

Sorry about that. I made multiple patches for my mod list myself so maybe it got into the patch somehow. Either way, as there're multiple mods that handle the same thing but better, my patch could be considered obsolete.

As Blackread stated, the plugin is fine, and some users should really learn how to mod proper before starting to spew garbage, just start checking plugins and conflicts like a proper modder should instead of demanding mr.mod author to cater to your modlist.

As an extra information, if after "Proving Honor" you can't proceed, visit the whiterun stables, enter whiterun by foot and then travel all the way to Jorrvaskr, Farkas should be there waiting for you and he'll initiate dialogue to proceed the questline, this is a known "bug" in the vanilla game.

Ensuring compatibility with USSEP is a basic requirement for all mod authors. It's not "asking modders to cater to your load order" to ask modders to keep compatibility with the one mod that pretty much everyone uses. And the people who claim to have patched it for USSEP should upload the patch to Nexus instead of acting like elitist pricks.

Only the Skyrim modding community is so rankly individualist.

Ultimately, if More Radiant Quests for the Companions is exactly like this mod but patched, then that mod is what people should be using, not a bugged mod that is no longer supported. The mod author ought to link to that mod in the description or delete this mod so that nobody downloads it accidentally if they can't be bothered to fix it.

No no, he has a point. Why should you have to be a basic modder and manage your own plug ins and conflicts?

Damn gate keeping rankly individualists, elitest pricks! We deserve their damn work. We shouldn't be expected to have some due diligence!

By now, USSEP shouldnt be anybodys problem anymore. Wanna ensure compatibility for it, sure, go for it - we don't have to give a flying s*** bout that tho. This has 0 to do with elitism, you are just entitled af and lazy to not be patching it yourself. Number 1 Rule of modding should be - Install a mod, check the how the mod is affected in your load order via xedit. That's what you should do but you don't. Pathetic.

What is more pathetic is how you expect mod authors to delete their mods from 2017 simply because they aren't supported anymore. Much wow. How bout we delete USSEP for still havin bugs UP TO THIS POINT that have NEVER beem fixed for years, huh?

ensuring mod's you use are compatible and being able to do basic conflict resolution that's literally dragging and dropping a few times is a basic requirement for all mod users.
this took me quite literally 15 seconds to make and I had just woke up still having my first coffee...

I don't even use this mod I have a custom version with more reasonable requirements since this is too much I just installed it to make this patch and prove how simple it is, this isn't rocket science and not asking you to become a game dev to mod its simple conflict resolution using community made tools that do most of the work for you, its the mod user's responsibility to ensure mods they use are compatible and if not be able to do simple conflict resolution which would've taken you less time to do than typing this pointless comment did...

Instead of everyone acting like this is 100% easy, why not link to tutorials? Why not explain why this is easy? Even just linking to the xedit manual...

It's also not a big ask to say a mod ought to be compatible with USSEP, but it's silly to even complain when this mod is six years old.

Yeah, no, this mod shouldn't be deleted. It's important to preserve old works so that new ones can take inspiration. If a new modder can't check the comments to make sure the mod works properly then they shouldn't be modding.

Hopefully this will put some fears to rest for anyone else who installed this without reading the posts thoroughly beforehand:
haven't run into any issues that I can remember (I may have had to use moveto player on Farkas near Jorrvaskr at the end of Proving Honor, but another comment mentioned that's a vanilla bug) aside from the confusion around the 6 radiant quest requirement actually being 12 to begin The Silver Hand.
Using this console command provided by sensei27, big kudos: "setPQV C00 RadiantQuestsUntilC03_var 6" before handing in a quest (when the number was already over 6) worked as intended and started The Silver Hand properly.
That's as far as I've made it into the questline, I have the latest USSEP in my modlist, and I haven't run into any other issues.
That said, probably a better idea to download Customizable Companions Questline Progression Requirements if you haven't already started a game with this one. Updating to it probably isn't safe, but maybe someone more learned will dispute that; the changes this mod makes are really really simple, just 3 digit values from the vanilla game, BUT I'm not sure what would happen to a save file that suddenly implemented all of the USSEP changes.
