Please report any bugs or issues here and I will do my best to fix them if they are related to my port. If not I can pass them onto TheForkOnTheLeft or you can ask him on the original mod's page. Thanks!
Aye!!! HotFiles!! Thanks to everybody be for endorsing and actually enjoying this mod. Hopefully a proper fix for some areas will be fixed. Can’t work on it until the beginning of December. But no promises. There’s a chance that with making the fix, grassy areas will lose its density in the process. It’s the way of modding. Sometimes it’s one way or the other. Then sometimes there are others who find a special way to fix things. But I will try though.
Thanks to code1k for updating his Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods to suport Viscous Foliage!
You can find the mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9005/? The specific Viscous Foliage file is at the bottom of the optional files.
Note: This fix will change the look of the mod slightly, but if the errant grass placement bothers you this should help, at least until TheForkOnTbeLeft implements his fix when he gets back.
Again thanks to code1k, and thanks eveyone for your support of Viscous Foliage!
I am having trouble finding the Skyrim.ini to change the settings. I thought it would be in the skyrim documents folder but I can only see a SkyrimPrefs.ini and SkyrimBase/Baked.ini file. All of which don't have the iMiniGrassSize.
The settings on the desc page are settings for Skyrim LE
On Skyrim SE in the skyrim.ini (located Documents -> My Games -> Skyrim SE..) try [Grass] bAllowCreateGrass=1 bAllowLoadGrass=0 fGrassFadeRange=6000 fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000 fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000 iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=15 iMinGrassSize=75
I wish it was still in development, I mean, no releases/updates on Viscous Foliage Loose in 5 years.
It would be really great if someone would pick this up and keep working on it, there isn't even a Complex Grass mod for it.
Also, it would be great, if there was a grass, or landscape mod that someone makes, so that it covers up a lot of the seams/clipping in this game, especially the very noticeable areas of the map.
I don't know if it's because this was the first grass mod that I installed, but since then this one has been my favorite and I can't let it go. I remember seeing it on the front page and found that it fit the mood I was going for back then on an older mod setup. Plus, it's indeed THICC. Who wouldn't want to download a THICC mod?
Jokes aside, Skyrim now wouldn't feel the same without the grass installed. Thank you for sharing which allowed for a few playthroughs playing the game with these on. I'm looking forward to a new playthrough with them once again, on a new mod setup that I'm slowly tweaking. Viscous still looks as good as ever, even in today's Skyrim.
I'm getting less than 30 fps with the performance version, vanilla i'm guessing it will be lower. And it's definitely not my setup, Origins of Forest runs at full 50-60 fps no issues.
So I kind of managed to do a very quick fix on this issue. I just added the games default volcanic grass back to this region. I also added the volcanic grass from Dragonborn on order to flesh it out a little bit. Not a perfect fix but it's better than nothing. If there is interest and if TheForkOnTheLeft/samuelwinadkins gives their blessing, I'll upload it.
Hey man just go for it dude. It's just a fix/small edit man. It's really not that big a deal. Just be sure you put some credits to the people I have credited for things like the grass assets and grass mods I utilized to make the original grass mod. In case if anything is wrong for some reason send the blame my way since I am saying it's fine. Most authors are like not in the modding scene anymore sadly. I wish they would answer me. Edit: I also wont be adding more mods to the public anymore either. So no more grass mods and things like that. Just working on my last weather and ENB overhaul and that will be it for me.
Clean away man. If anything there is some dirt left behind through removing some plants or something. As long as it isn't scripted it should be safe to clean. Idk how the file for the SSE version is or how it was ported, what meshes/ plant models may have been removed. Since I don't use SSE.
Hi, I really like this grass mod. However, I have one issue. In the volcanic region of eastmarch there is a distinct lack of any grass or any vegetation, with the only areas covered being around Darkwater crossing and a small amount around most trees. The rest of the area has no vegetation other than the occasional vanilla bush making the landscape quite ugly. My grass density is set to 70. I've seen in screenshots and videos, with this mod, this area covered in vegetation and was wondering what changes I would need to make to have the same. Thanks
the fix for this is really annoying to be honest. Sorry for late reply. As I do not keep up with my mods anymore since I started my last project for my ENB on LE skyrim. Fixing the issue will cause landscape grasses in the wilds to be barren in random spots. the best way to fix this would be to paint the landscape textures in CK but that will cause lots of incompatibility for many other mods that add stuff to exteriors. I also dont have enough knowledge to properly do this kind of editing in all honesty.
Would someone mind telling me what the different settings in the .ini file mean like iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure. Plan on editing to make my own settings if necessary. Thanks.
