This is great. I wasn't able to use the original mod, but now I can, in a way. I didn't think it was working at first as I ran around the forests nearby Riverwood and couldn't get Oakvale to play. So, I took a carriage to Solitude and ran around a while. Eventually, a giant smile came upon me as those fantastical plucking strings played.
Thank you for this. I miss those early Xbox days. Fingers crossed the upcoming Fable is enjoyable (on PC).
Looking forward to the new Fable also! The way the songs are added, you may not hear them often, especially if you use other music type distributor mods. If you really want to, you can open the chicken_chaser_MUS.ini file and replace everything with this:
[General] ; add Oakvale music to pineforest music MUSExploreForestPine! = 0x802~chicken chaser fable music.esp ; add Bowerstone music to cities MUSTownTest! = 0x801~chicken chaser fable music.esp
The added exclamation points should remove all other tracks from those playlists. It might conflict with other MTD mods, not sure. Those are the settings I used initially to test the mod.
cool to see one of my own "mods" converted to work with the new music system. feel free to convert the others if you so wish to do so as I am not really motivated to do it myself.
Yeah! So currently the Bowerstone song will only play in towns, and the Oakvale song plays in Pine Forests - which means it will sometimes play outside of towns. I did it that way since the smaller towns like Riverwood don't have their own set of songs that play, they just play the same music as the surrounding areas, and the Oakvale song just doesn't feel like a big city song to me.

Is it possible to only have the tracks play in towns or inns I wonder?
EDIT: Nvm just realised that the distributor mod does just that, fantastic!
