Just to let other's know, in case they aren't aware of the option: Rengel's original textures are still in the Old Files section. I personally much prefer these as I find that now banned Lupus' textures are pretty much just an upscale to 2K resolution and sharpened all over. Despite being double the resolution, I think the original textures look way better due to the way Lupus tried to "improve" them.

Obviously tastes differ, but wanted others to know of the option. Thanks megapatato for updating this mod. Not sure why MO2 didn't notify me of any version change. Glad to have found it still being maintained after seeing a patch for it on Unofficial Material Fix page. :)

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between the versions that you find so appealing in Ren's original one? Just curious, as I didn't see a theme-break; if there's demand, I could try adding those back as options in the FOMOD installer (so you still get the updates to the Akatosh shrine in the loading screen and the shrines in the crafting interface of Hearthfires, all while preserving Ren's original textures).

Hey megapotato, not sure if you are asking me specifically. I will just say I like the mod as it is now. I am plenty happy with it. If you add more choices, great. But me personally I don't need any more. These are very beautiful as they are, you have done fine work. I endorsed long time ago.

With my Lupus comment I only meant to recall his extremely aloft opinion of himself which for me made him one of the most despicable personalities in the SSE community. I do use some of his textures because he had talent (have got his coins still). But as a (virtual) person, I think he was a very mean and nasty dick, and not for one moment I regret that he got banned.

Hi, thank you for the great mod!
May I have the permission for adding a material fix patch in Unofficial Material Fix?
And you could fix it in your mod if you like.

      Hi elzee!
By all means, go ahead. If you need help or encounter stuff / tags / attributes that seem weird, don't hesitate to get in touch.

About fixing the materials, what exactly needs fixing? From the Unofficial Material Fix readme, it deals only with materials for purposes of footstep generation and their sound. Is the fix just making sure all the shrines declare properly their materials? I'm just unclear on what the issue is; does the wrong sound present itself when, say hitting with a sword, or just when walking over?

Yes, you're right. Just that material mark you said.
All shrines in vanilla game marked as wrong material.

I see. I can take a crack at it, but honestly I don't know what I'd be doing. In fact, I don't even have Skyrim installed at the moment. Do I need to edit the nifskope files? If so, what node, bhkCompressedMeshShapeData? Are the valid material flags documented somewhere?

Or, if you want to do it, go for it XD If you edit the files I can upload them here as a new version.

I see you made a patch; I'm so relieved :)

My perfectionism made me want to split the meshes into their constitutive material elements (e.g. Stendarr's money one into 3 components, a gold, a horn, a basin) for all meshes, for all variants, but seeing as you made a patch, I can sit back and relax B-)

So I've noticed that with SSE (not sure if this was the case with Classic, if so, I never noticed it), the reflectiveness on the shrine of Zenithar (chrome version) is somewhat pixelated. It's reflective, but there seems to be visible large squares in the surface. It's not my ENB (tried disabling it), and if it's any of my INI settings or something else, I'm not sure which one it would be.

Anyone else notice this, or know what might be the cause?

I noticed this but I always thought it was intentional on Ren's part; it should look like meteoric iron (i.e. a simpler version akin to the Widmanstätten pattern) rather than a chrome dip.

In version 2.2 I had and issue with Mara and Kynareth, where the model is really dark, after I updated to v2.3 I noticed that Kynareth was fixed but Mara is still the same, deleting its meshes fixed the dark model but it has black spots in the alpha areas, where it should be hollowed.

They *ought* to be see-through in game, as the textures have them set to transparent. I spent a while navigating the camera to make sure this was the case (incidentally, if you position the camera just right, you can peer through the missing side walls of each gap lol). Are they matte black, or just very darkly transparent?

I suspect this may be an interaction with another mod, or visual modifier. Could you run the game without mods / ENBs and post a pic? Alternate Life can help in quickly getting past the long intro of Helgen...

I actually fixed this myself a while ago, if I remember correctly the mesh file had a wrong name.

@VYNLT That was really a long time ago, I can't remember which one, but I can help you with this, the two files of "Mara" should be named exactly like this:
      [meshes] > [_byoh] > [architecture] > [byohhouse] > [interface] > byohinterfaceshrinemara.nif
      [clutter] > [shrines] > shrinemara.nif

The installer generates these files; I can't find the naming error :/

      12Mara:
      meshes\_byoh\architecture\byohhouse\interface\byohinterfaceshrinemara.nif
      meshes\clutter\shrines\shrinemara.nif

      11Mara:
      meshes\_byoh\architecture\byohhouse\interface\byohinterfaceshrinemara.nif
      meshes\clutter\shrines\shrinemara.nif

If you're using a mod manager, can you disable/re-enable to check what names they're getting assigned?

I use only NMM, and I know it could mess things up sometimes.
Anyway you have a naming issue with Shrine Kynareth
The file name should be "shrinekynareth.nif" inside clutter folder while your file is named "byohinterfaceshrinekynareth.nif"
This issue only exists in 09Kynareth folder, the other one is fine.

New version is uploaded (and should be available for download soon...)

This is one of my need to have texture mods, it's great. The only point that bothers me a bit is the kynareth shrine that looks somewhat too sleek and futuristic compared to everything around it. I'd prefer if it had a slightly rougher and rustic feel, with it's materials more obvious.

If you want to make a rustic version, I could add it to the pack.
Just be sure it's up to Ren-level quality ;)

Since these are only meshes and textures they should work with mods that edit the effect they grant right?

Yeah, these don't touch the script called after activating the shrines. If another mod modifies that script, it won't interfere with this mod.
