Hi everybody! Working hard in a new version. Most CTDs are fixed, as well as the objects disappearing for some of you.
The next update will include bug fixes and performance improvements only (configuration and keys after that). Thanks to your reports I could narrow the issues down, again thank you guys!
Awesome, it feels so natural that it's one of those mods that should have been in the original game, thaks you. One question, we had a minimap mod that consumed a huge amount of fps. How much do you think yours affects performance?
For me there was no noticeable difference even with unlocked framerate. Nvidia 2070 here. But my load order is minimal, maybe someone with benchmarking experience and heavier graphics can help here :)
I think you referring to the mini map I have used for years. Huge fps loss on that one. Any idea how many on your setup. Just asking. I think I ll test it myself too
I have 1900 plugins (I'm addicted) but I care a lot about stability and fps, I also have all the community shader and reshader related shit. I have an rx 6750, 32gb ram at 3200, and a Ryzem 5700. . My fps on Riverwood bridge goes from 47 to 39 with this mod, it seems that the minimaps in general have a hard time processing the npc's.
I wanted to put it in the sticky comment but it's blocked hehe.
Oh unlocked now thanks! I don't know if that's the NPCs or the terrain. I would say that it is the terrain, but hardly anything that can be done. Displaying a minimap means to render the game again in the minimap window, with the Skyrim engine.
In Riverwood (NPCs enabled/disabled via Local Map Upgrade bImmesiveMode): No Mini Map: ~59 fps With Mini Map and NPCS enabled: ~32 fps With Mini Map and NPCs disabled: ~43 fps
In the wilderness with very few enemies/NPCs: No Mini Map: ~55 fps With Mini Map and NPCs enabled: ~42 fps With Mini Map and NPCs disabled: ~48 fps
So, the fps hit for me is about 5-10 in any given situation, and an addition 5-20 depending on how many NPCs are nearby. Note that I am using a i7-13th Gen and RTX 4080 HX (laptop GPU) with 1-2K textures + 4K resolution + Cabbage ENB + Skyrim Upscaler + FSMP so this is not the worst FPS hit in my list.
Regardless, this mod is a permanent addition to my mod list. Thanks!
Edit: Version 1.1 I gained 5-10 fps over all of the above numbers.
Also here to mention I lose about 10 frames looking down from dragonsreach usually capped at 60. If it's not capped then I get around ~85 so that's quite a drop from 85 to 55. A easy way to save fps is instead of tracking all the npc's only track the visible enemy ones or something like that if this can be done or a static version where it's only the map and then if you press some settings in game/mcm then you can turn on the tracking for all npc's
RTX 3060ti desktop, Skyrim and massive (1966 plugins) modlist (Lexy's LOTD + some stuff) here. I see a drop from ~60 FPS running through a large cave that I've cleared to ~40 when I turn the map on, but no noticeable drop if I turn off the rotation. Still drops to ~35 in exterior areas even with rotation off.
Edit: Thanks, whatever you did in 1.1 has me up to 50FPS most of the time, even outdoors!
Hello alexsylex! Thank you for this wonderful mod! I can´t imagine me playing the game without it anymore.
I have one suggestion to make: would it be possible to show the world map in the minimap when we are on exterior spaces and when we are in locations that makes sense to show it, like the Soul Cairn and the Blackreach, for example?
Anyone have any idea if we can remove the text at the top letting you know what cell you're in? It's just that, I'm usually familiar with where I am, but I'd love to make more room at the top.
In case helpful for others, I've noticed that the L doesn't work for me when I have my controller on (and holding back on my controller will open it instead though you might need to change the default mapping of wait being assigned to the back button). Turn the controller off and L key and map works again.
I prefer a slightly smaller/tighter top right circle map to Klonquad's settings below. Sharing in case of use to anyone else.
looks great! the "L" button was not working at first, but at some point it started working for me today.

Cool mod. I hope it doesnt steal my focus like in other games. My settings with a little room for vertical buffs on the side. (I restarted Skyrim several times just to get it right.) fPositionX=0.80 fPositionY=0.08 fScale=0.60 uShape=1 Round and top right
Skyrim v 1.6.640 Now THIS is an incredible mod, great work man!
Just wanted to inform of crashes whilst discovering locations and/or opening other interfaces. I'm honestly not sure what is causing it, but it seems that disabling this mod does the trick right now!

Thank you again for the hard work!
Are we getting an update soon?
This mod causes my game to crash consistently.

Are there any plans to add an option to adjust the opacity? It's sometimes tricky to see the detail with the default.
