Thanks. This seems to still work for Skyrim SE (no AE), not to mention this is good to remove what are now dead links in the menu.
Works well with the modded load screen i use as well. 😎

    i'd like a startmenu with

    continue, load, new, and quit

    no addons no credits

no skyrim symbol - no bethesda symbol
    a black screen preferred

what mod is going to do this for me ?

Anyone know of a mod like this for the in-game menu?

If you want to remove the "MODS" entry from the menu when you you play, just open the Skyrim.ini file and under [General] add this
      bModManagerMenuEnabled=0

EDIT: the mod author says it doesn't work, and it's true, it doesn't for the main menu, it still works for the ingame menu (the system menu) on 1.5.97 at least

Figure this is the place to ask if anyone knows a fix or mod to remove the little bethesda gear/loading circle that stays forever sometimes. No idea what to do with it. Annoying me to pieces.

It's worth pointing out that at some point, Bethesda, in their infinite wisdom, decided that you now have to go in to the Bethesda.net menu ("Mods") in order to actually tell the game to load mods that you have installed. At least, with mods that use .bsa files. This means that, if you install this mod simultaneously with your other mods, you will find that many of them have not loaded, despite being properly deployed. The workaround currently is to install all your other mods, run the game, enable them from within the game, exit the game, then install this one.

You should always use a mod manager.

I dont see anything here affecting a save file... can I assume this is safe to add/remove mid playthrough?

Will not affect your save file, only the menu.

Cryptic question for people, but I'm guessing you got from mo2, ..
When that happens the outer line is red ? so click right on data and choose set data as directory then is should show green and ok then click ok

Something oddly simple that had me confused... Kind of ashamed of myself. Thanks either way. Why does that happen?

Dont worry about it  its all good,  Idk why it happens something to do with how the mod author set things up when packing there mod, just guessing ..
Or mo2 just being a ... and doesn't like something about  it

The contents of the .zip looks like 'Data > Interface > Menu File'.

I would guess MO2 expects just 'Interface > Menu File'.

Never used MO2, and I think it should be able to deal with either path.

EDIT: Also might be a bug with MO2 because there is no .esp in 'data'

Thanks so much for this. I would be even happier if you made one for the system menu. It would be great for everyone if you made it so they could turn off the options they didn't want, like the creation club and mods .

      This mod does it https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28334
But it does remove the quick save button. But imo u shouldn't be quick saving in skyrim, it's buggy and may corrupt ur save anyway.
Recommend using engine fixes ini tweak to turn quick saves in to regular saves too if ur gonna use that mod.

Is there a way to actually bring back classic character load menu intact without separated profiles?
I think that 'cool' se feature cause black image instead of save-screen until start switching saves. (and its hella unconvinient imo, when u deeply moderate a game u need to load/quit/repeat really a lot)

Sort of, the interface (.swf) files from Oldrim are mostly compatible with SE.

However removing profiles from the main screen doesn't touch the in-game load screen so I doubt it would help with performance as you describe.

      This mod might help: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20406

If you're referring to the flashing screen when you try to save or load game. This mod may help.
