Some patches resolving some minor conflicts between Kaidan 2, Immersive Features, and various overhauls.

Kaidan Immersive Features Patches - Why are they needed?
IF adds a lot of interactions between Kaidan and other Skyrim NPCs. In order to properly be referenced, they must be made persistent, if they were not already. If a town overhaul changes where the NPC is spawned in game, this needs to be patched, otherwise they will still spawn at the vanilla coordinates and might get stuck. 

Conversely, if any of those mods load after Immersive Features and *remove* the persistence, it might affect certain functions.  None of these patches (or IF) touch the NPC's records, so they will not affect replacers one bit.

I hope to add to this collection as stuff pops up so it can all be found in one place.


Current patches:
Kaidan 2 and RedBag's Falkreath
    Kaidan's default dismissal spot is Dead Man's Drink in Falkreath. RedBag's overhaul changes the name of the cell, making Kaidan unable to find it. If you use that overhaul and dismiss him, poor Kai will just stand there not moving until you have him follow you again.

IF and CotN Dawnstar
  Carries over the new coordinates for Alesan, Abelone, Frida, and Silus. Requires Hearthfire due to Alesan.

IF and CotN Morthal
  Carries over the new coordinates for Alva.

IF and CotN Falkreath
   Carries over the new coordinates for Narri and Lod.

IF and RedBag's Falkreath
    Kaidan's default dismissal spot is Dead Man's Drink in Falkreath. RedBag's overhaul changes the name of the cell, making Kaidan unable to find it. If you use that overhaul and dismiss him, poor Kai will just stand there not moving until you have him follow you again. Also, carries over new coordinates for Narri and Lod. Obviously if you use this patch you do not need the one for Kaidan 2.

IF and Immersive Citizens
   Vignar Grey Mane's bed in Jorrvaskr is referenced, which Immersive Citizens gives him sole ownership of. This restores that.

IF and Bards Reborn Student of Song
   Restores a bard play spot linked reference to Viarmo, and carries over coordinates for Jorn.

IF and GG's Thieves Guild Headquarters
  Carries over coordinate changes for Garthar, Rune, and Vipir. 

NEW 11/23/24
Patches for Reimperialized Abandoned Prison

Two patches are provided, they can either be downloaded as part of the main FOMOD file, or as their own separate FOMOD.

Kaidan 2
  Relocates all the items and NPCs (including Kaidan) from the original Abandoned Prison location to the new one created by Reimperialized Abandoned Prison. Adjusts Kaidan's shackles to eliminate clipping for both hands and feet. Blocks a doorway so the player cannot encounter Cyrelian before finding Kaidan, which can cause issues with his quest. And repositions a skeleton away from where Kaidan is, since I found it distracting so close to him.

Immersive Features Alternate Start Quest Add On
  Immersive Features has an add-on quest called "Transgressions Unknown", which offers an immersive way to find Kaidan. This patch relocates a personal item of Cyrelian's added by this quest to the new location near Cyrelian.

NEW 12/26/24
Patches for the Forest Wedding relocated by Janquel's Blackthorn/Kaidan 2 patch 

  I use Blackthorn - A Buildable Town in The Rift (SE) and the patch for it by Janquel, which can be found here Janquel's Arguably Needed Quixotically Unifying ESP Library or here Blackthorn - Kaidan 2 Patch. Even if you don't have Blackthorn, you may prefer the new location, it's quite nice. But I have noticed some things that needed patching.

Alternate Forest Wedding Patches:
  • Aspens Ablaze - the THICKETS option, specifically - the extra trees need to be adjusted for the new landscaping, some were floating, some were interfering with the path up to the altar, embedded in the tent and cherry tree at the altar etc. I also adjusted a couple plants.
  • Wolves of Cyrodiil - Mihail Monsters and Animals (SE-AE version) - Mihail places a pack of these vicious creatures very close to the wedding, and this patch disables them while the priestess is camped there.
  • Less Predators Patch - disables a vanilla predator spawnpoint very close to the priestess camp. I decided to make this after I visited the camp and saw a bear sleeping on her tent, lol.
  • Wet and Cold - Gear - a small ini text file to exclude the priestess from being given a backpack via SPID, a personal choice for me that I'm sharing with you.

Patch for the mod Evolving Locations - Lucky Shack
  I love mods that make Skyrim more dynamic, and Evolving Locations - Lucky Shack is pretty cool. However, Kaidan (Extended Edition) will still comment on Lucky's demise whether or not Lucky is alive. The patch ensures he only says something at the correct stage of the evolution of the shack.

NEW January 5th 2025:
Kaidan 2 and Mihail's Goblins

    Kaidan's Autumnwatch home has some squatters, if you have any of Mihail's goblins in your game, he puts a camp right on the front lawn, blocking the road, and they patrol all around the house with their pet durzogs. Kaidan 2 comes with the ability to disable Autumnwatch (which the AiO provides access to in the MCM) so I patched it so that if the house is enabled, the camp is disabled.

Patches provided for Goblins- Mihail Monsters and AnimalsGoblins and Riekrs- Mihail Monsters and Animals, and High Fantasy Pack- Mihail Monsters and Animals.
Note: if you use the mod "Autumnwatch Extended" which I do, you can still disable the house for the goblin camp, but the addon parts of the house will still be there you just can't enter the house. That is a function of that mod, not Kaidan 2 or this patch.

New January 18th 2025:
Kaidan NPC Overhaul's Evil Mastermind Armor Replacer - Immersive Features Armor Display Patch
This patch has been moved to my Immersive Features Tent Patches collection

HIGHLY Recommended (in general, not just for my patches)
Save Unbaker at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community - this mod forces the game to load certain information from the plugin, not from your savefile. So persistent items will be able to be adjusted, NPC weights can change, etc.

FAQ
Will my NPCs get the grey face bug from this?
   No.. just no.

Do I really need these?

    Maybe. Nothing game breaking here, really. But if you use the Reimperialized Abandoned Prison without any patches, Kaidan will be impossible to get to normally.

Do I need a new game for these?
   Generally no... however the Reimperialized Abandoned Prison patch really does.  In my tests, Kaidan and other items successfully relocated when I waited 30 game days in the Sleeping Giant Inn to reset the cell, but Cyrelian and the prisoner's belongings chest did not. This was using the mod Save Unbaker which can unstuck many things, but persistent items can still be.. persistent. You can use console commands to tcl from the old to the new location in the same cell and recycleactor them if needed, but only on a new game will it work as intended, I'm afraid.

Any tips?
  Make sure these patches are before your lighting patches in your load order. And be nice to someone today.
