I'm getting a weird combination of other people's glitches. I initially installed and enabled this mod pretty late-game and *could not* get it to work - it would CTD every time even after I edited the FaceGeom folder name - so then I tried it on a fresh playthrough (as in, I take a carriage to Winterhold literally as soon as I get to Whiterun from Riverwood that first time). This time, either it CTDs right away or I manage to get in only to be attacked by at least three wolves... and cue CTD. I'm not using any mods that have anything to do with Winterhold, as far as I know. Any ideas? Thank you so much in advance!
ETA - nevermind. It spontaneously started working after a bit...
Well, it works, but the shop's still full of some combination of wolves, sabercats and/or bears and Jobasha's not too happy about me drawing a weapon in his shop...
Very late to the party here, but in case anyone else has this issue...
I had the same problem. Then someone commented that the Textures folder had a sub-folder called "FaceGeom" instead of "FaceTint". Renaming the folder to what it should have been fixed the CTD on entering the store.
I just wanted to say thanks you karmalade. I installed this and at first I thought I was going to have to give up and uninstall it because nothing I did was fixing it. But thanks to your comment all it took was copying-and-pasting the files from the FacGeom folder into the FaceTint folder (which already existed and had a bunch of mod stuff in it), and then I was able to walk right into the store! So thanks again ^_^
Hey, I noticed there are some objects in the Winterhold Restored version of your mod.
A door in the middle of nowhere, for example: https://i.imgur.com/L7jfIXX.png
Another door that is exactly in the same place as the entry to the guard house: https://i.imgur.com/0PhrmA7.png So sometimes you activate the door instead of entering the building.
Based on the CK there seem to be other objects out of place as well: https://i.imgur.com/XrL2DKv.png I noticed that it tends to duplicate objects from Winterhold Restored instead of relying on them. It's probably a good idea to master Winterhold Restored a master instead.
Hey, I'm getting a CTD when I enter the bookshop. I've have Winterhold Restored installed and I also have Windyridge - Player home in Winterhold by Mandragorasprouts installed and I have made sure the sm_jobasha_WHrestore_patch.esp is loaded after Winterhold Restored can you help please thank you.
Hey, I just noticed that there is a FaceGeom instead of a FaceTint folder in Textures. Must be by mistake, right? You can also delete the tga file since the game only uses the dds but creates two files for some reason.
I've never played Morrowind all the way through (or modded it), but I remember "Chuck the Plant" from old LucasArts adventure games, starting with Maniac Mansion (which also featured a slimy meteor).
Is this where the original Easter Egg came from? Bethesda or some modder making an LEC reference in Morrowind and now it is being echoed here again?
That is indeed where the reference comes from! From the UESP wiki:
"In Jobasha's Rare Books (located in Vivec's Foreign Quarter), atop a bookshelf in a corner at the bottom of the stairs, there is a potted plant. If you look very closely at the plant, you'll see that it has been bestowed with the name "Charles the Plant". But that's not all! Charles also has Meteor Slime, an Alchemy ingredient used to make potions. This is a reference to the Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle games by LucasArts which included a plant named "Chuck the Plant". Just make sure no one sees you take it!"

Are you using any mods that modify Winterhold?

Just curious.
