In some cases, users have reported that spells cast with Payload are not being applied properly. If the hotkey skill animation plays but other functions such as spells are not applied, try the no payload version of the options file.

some skills, mainly hotkey skills 1,4&5 do no damage when cast. NPC has effect that they are hit by them (on fire,shock overlay, freezing). Have the latest version of everything but no damage is applied. Other hot keys skills damage are applied though,.
Although I remember doing damage, I have edited the payloader file to apply magnitude and magicka use for the special skills. But don't remember if ALL of the do damage. Let me go check later and I'll report back if ALL skills do damage.
thanks!! another issue people are having that was posted in the bugs session, is that female characters when right mouse click dont use normal spells but the previous hotkey skills. for example: after using fireball ( fire hotkey 1) all my right clicks are now fireball ( and i cant use normal spells) BUT for male it works fine!!
besides those two issues everything works great , awesome mod!
It does seem a few of the spells don't inflict any damage. I've noticed with the basic attacks, you need a lot of magicka to cause any substantial damage, and the power attacks, I think it's the second one (where you launch two fireballs) I stagger the enemy but it doesn't do any damage. Unless this was intended.
i edited the damage in ssedit to deal double base damage ( besides scaling) its: "cqcdamage" inside fire magic effect shown in the description. now it deals damage :D
I have edited lots of different parts of the xEdit including the CQC ones etc and some of the skills (HKS Skills) still don't do any damage. I have edited my Character level, destruction level and increased magicka and still doesn't do anything. :S
I am also facing the same issue with hotkey skills and parts of the combo chain doing 1 damage. I've also entered the sseedit esp and can't really understand which float value dictates the damage for which skills. Damn this is one of the best mods in concept i've ever seen and the execution is so weird. Would love a guide or set of instructions on how to tweak this.
Some mods are not compatible with this one, for example Elden Rim was blocking the damage of several attacks. I deactivated it and the mod worked perfectly.
Whenever i try to use a skill (1 to 5) i run out of magika and it doesnt regen in any way and i get a message saying "You're out of Spells", what do i do?
In reality they don't cost magic, you have a mod that is changing this. This mod works with combo systems and has ability cooldowns with hotkeys. These should cost a certain amount of magic, but the mod doesn't do that, you need to change that in SSEDT and CK.
They shouldn't cost any magicka if you haven't altered anything. Try moving both the mod itself and the plugin lower in your LO, and check BrandNewSpellCast.ini, this is where magicka cost is located. mods\Brand New Spell Cast Payloadless\SKSE\PayloadInterpreter\Config or mods\Brand New Spell Cast\SKSE\PayloadInterpreter\Config depending on which version you picked.
Here you'll find these lines $FireSkillFirst_start = @CAST|0x8A6|BrandNewSpellCast.esp|0|0|0|0|0|0|0|0|0 They should all be 0's, for all of the lines.
It was apocalypse + ordinator that messed this up, it was a perk i had used that made it so that i can only cast a certain amount of spells per day without magika cost.
Now thing is, i can only cast ults, not skills, does this mod conflict with the revolver and wrist crossbow mod in any way? i have these 3 mods which all require the hot key skill mod so im not certain, i've never been able to use skills, only the ult and the other mods....welp, i can only use the auto attacks, not the skills

Great mod I have a suggestion these moves should cost magic otherwise it could be op. I'll see if I can go into xedit real quick and do that my self. I managed to make the hotkey skills cost magic though.

How did you manage to get the skills to work? i assigned the hot keys but my character doesnt do any skill animations, i've downoloaded every file i needed too...idk what im doing wrong
do you have strange runes installed aswell? if yes try installing everything again and only the payloadless mod, then load a game and start go in a house XD then it worked for me
I tried reinstalling everything, but the skills just don't happen, nor do i get any animation either. I don't know what's the problem since i installed everything and i can see the skills in the menu when i press Shift + O , everything there seems in order but pressing the skills key buttons just do nothing :/
