Brand new mod to display stuff anywhere! This initial release should operate pretty cleanly and was tested by a couple people and tweaks were made. That said, if there are any concerns that arise, let me know and I'll look into it. Until then enjoy and have fun! This mod does not require Legacy of the Dragonborn, but is an excellent companion for fleshing out display spaces with additional non-supported items or to display additional copies of replicas in your other player homes.
UPDATE: V3.0 Added built in support for Legacy of the Dragonborn display count. Now placing display cases and putting an item on display or a mannequin on display will increase your museum display count by 1. This does apply to any cases placed be it in the museum or not.
UPDATE: V3.1 just compacted for ESL. Not sure why it needed to be since all I changed were the scripts, nothing in the plugin itself was touched in v3 but whatever...
additionally it has been discovered that this mod will not work on Skyrim 1.5x due to certain SKSE functions not being available for that version. So UPGRADE ALREADY!
If I may? For what you are suggesting, I use a combination of the following: - INTERACT - BUILD - DECORATE - Adds a crafting station to build all sorts of things and an ability to place these items in the world. - Solar's Portable Containers - The ability to create all sorts of containers that you can place or take with you. - Solar's Portable Crafting - The ability to make crafting stations and place them anywhere you like, with additional quests that unlock other stations not usually available in the regular game. Those mods, along with this one (Placeable Display Cases) pretty much allows me to do most of the thing I wish to do to customize and add things in a modded game. Short of using Settlement Builder, of course. I very rarely have issues with this configuration.
There's a series of mods by ANA I believe where beside the door of EVERY house is an activator that lets you enter an empty version of the house! I can't seem to find it on Nexus so it might have been a BethNet mod.
Версия игры 1.6.640.0.8 (SKSE64 2.2.3 rel 69) Мод к сожалению не работает. Порядок загрузки менял. Устанавливал через MO. Что я делаю не так? Или мод не поддерживает мою версию игры? :(
'Skyrim - Settlement builder' mod will allow one to add more rooms to an existing home mod. I personally used the non collision command code 'tcl' to examine empty spaces outside the interior house zones and, if you find a suitable spot you can use 'disable' command to remove a wall and then build your own extension to your home and create your own private display room. Takes a bit of time but it's worth it if you like your chosen player home but want the addition of a new room or two.
Home Sweet Armory isn't exactly empty, but there's a ton of unused space in a huge room and dozens of mannequins. There's a patch for Improved Mannequins for it, too.
It would be nice if this did weapon racks and shield plaques as well it would make placing collections of items together rather than having to make multiple displays for each individual weapon
Awesome mod. I love how I can basically make the Gallery into whatever kind of museum I want now. This was a great alternative for anyone wanting to show off something Legacy doesn't have displays for. Mr. IceCream, you and your colleagues do excellent work.
If I may offer one suggestion, would it be possible to add these pedestals to the options in Curator's Guide Display Planner? It would save players some time if they didn't have to manually place every single one
The way the pedestals function requires you to manually drop one and it's placed on the floor in front of you, aligned with your rotation. There's literally no function that could be integrated into the curator's guide that would benefit this system. I'm not even sure I understand what you are suggesting. Do you mean a menu option to just spawn one at will from the display planner? seems like an immersive option that doesn't really streamline anything when all you have to do is drop one to begin with.
look at the description page, it details the controls. They also show you in game what they do unless you use those idiotic mods which disable the tutorial messages.
No idea why but the mod is not working for me at all even though I have hundreds of mods, all working absolutely fine. First time like this. I simply don't even see esp in dmenu, no recipes, nothing. The game won't see it
Nope, just SKSE. If the recipe for the display cases is not showing up then your mod manager hasn't properly enabled the plugin it sounds like. If using Vortex make sure you are deploying after installing and MO2 make sure it's checked both in the left and the right panels.
Just sounds like an issue with installing and deploying properly. If using Vortex make sure you deploy after installing from the archive, and in MO2, just ensure it's checked in the left and right panes. Not a complicated mod really so shouldn't have any odd peculiarities to be concerned with.
Oh then it must have SKSE features that aren't available for 1.5x version. probably should update, no new mods are coming out for 1.5x Skyrim my friend, stop clinging to 1 or 2 outdated mods that aren't updating for 1.6x
Ok ppl, looks like I finally understood what needed to be done. Backported Extended ESL Support. Just google it. Solved a couple of other mods for me too :) great display case mod btw, enjoying it a lot. Still figuring out how to exit positioning mode, but I guess, I just need to do some research
I am having a problem with the mod. I placed three display cases. One is working perfectly, one the item has moved position down on the Z axis and the pedestal cannot be accessed, and on the third the item placed inside has completely disappeared (I did tfc to see if it had sunk below the ground but it is not anywhere to be found) and that pedestal also can no longer be activated.
I tried placing another pedestal and it let me drop it, move it, but it could also not be activated once I exited the positioning menu. It does show the prompt. I see no obvious conflicts in my load order (no jaxons or anything that disables tutorial menus) I was hoping you might have some thoughts as to why.
hmmm That is peculiar. Could you link a load order I can skim over and see if anything might cause an issue I can see? I can't think of anything short of maybe a super heavy load order or something that screws with physics in the engine that would cause issues. So you have an activate prompt on the pedestal but clicking it does nothing? It worked initially when placing it but now is not intractable? Sounds like something is setting the pedestal as blocked somehow, which is odd considering it's never blocked by any of the code in this mod, just the display items are.
Same thing for some reason. Once in positioning mode, pedestal can never be activated anymore, though activate key is there. Will be researching my load order
there must be a conflict with something in your load orders; something physics related or any other object lock down mod of some kind perhaps. Have not experienced any issues in testing or during use in my own game.

:)
It would be great if we could pick female or male Mannequins. Maybe use the female mannequin from LOTD.
Thanks...

but yes it will display any item that you can carry.
let me know if you solve the issue
no wonder I can't use it
Sad :(
