To call this a puzzle is a joke. You literally press one button over and over until a new one appears and then repeat that same step again on the new button until final button appears, then repeat again. It literally takes no thinking to complete this thing.
That said, I'll download it for the cool mesh and texture design.
You're missing the point of this mod. The puzzle has internal logic in vanilla. The logic is just not communicated to the player.
Also it is definitely not press button over and over until solved. Because you can press the second button too many times, requiring you to press the first button to get decrement the 1st count.
I just never made that mistake because I stop pressing the button when the new button unlocks and start pressing the next one and repeat. I know you start off with two buttons. The first button on the right is the back button, and the forward button next to it on its left. Pressing the right button does nothing, but pressing the second button eventually unlocks the next button, and then you logically repeat the same thing on the next button until last button unlocks and then you stop and press the final button to get the quest item. It is a really stupid simple puzzle.
Maybe I'm stupid but I don't understand how this helps with the puzzle. Especially considering the indicators are supposed to be the mirrors mechanisms moving & the buttons opening already.
I did... I just don't get it. Edit: Okay I kinda get it rewatching the video... though I still don't think it makes the puzzle easier. Just more sensible. Which part of me likes but I don't know if there's a real need need for it. Purely a minor visual enhancement.
wSkeever thanks for making this. It never understood what all those clicks were for. You have a TON of fixes i use, this is just one more of them, so thanks for all your work in improving this classic game.
Going to be honest and say that I stopped paying attention to this puzzle years ago. Once I did it in only four clicks and I just remember that order miraculously every time I get to this part. I should probably install this just in case I ever don't suddenly remember once I need to do it.
just push the button till the next button becomes available and then rinse and repeat.
People commenting like the problem with the puzzle is that's "too hard" when the real problem is that it makes no sense. How is pushing buttons until puzzle solves itself a satisfying solution. Can *you* explain what the buttons do based on the vanilla game?
Here's the reasoning. Millenia ago, it went something like thiis... No one: ... Mzark: I want my sophisticated Elder Scroll browser to be simple enough for a Nord to use. Dwemer Engineers: Got you fam
Wow this is an amazing idea wSkeever - much more satisfying letting my dragonborn feel like they actually have a puzzle to solve & can understand whats happening (Kinda). I cant wait for them to see and be dazzled by your display help - I for one really appreciate this for role playing reasons & feel satisfied youve actually had a hand in its delivery. To make things even more confusing there are actually arrow marks on each ring that you can line up so it does look like that would be part of the solution & Ive spent ages in ye olden playthroughs trying to make it make sense as a puzzle before giving up & button mashing - so sad they left it as they did.

Just being there using the lexicon spawned via console doesn't work
Kudos to you! Endorsed!
