Ooopsies! For some reason the CK didn't render the large boulder, so I put the barrels in a location that caused clipping. I have relocated them to right next to the stone deposit. First download 1.8 and then download the update. Let me know if there are any other issues.

Love the mod but have a small annoyance.  NPCs while sandboxing continually try to walk through the wall/fireplace separating the master bedroom from the children's bedroom often knocking objects onto the floor.  I think this is a navemesh issue but not sure.  Any chance you could take a look?

I never edited the Navmesh from the original file, I just used what was already there. As this mod doesn't actually add any rooms you can't already add, there was no need to do so. Are you getting this mod mixed up with another bedroom mod?
I don't play the game anymore nor do I have it installed, but you're welcome to take a look yourself and edit the file for your own personal game.

For the pop up message "you cant plant that here" issue. I changed the planter race in xEdit to slaughterfish race. Thinking the race on the planter is just a placer holder, it shouldnt matter what race is listed. I am not sure if this will have other effects in the future, but seems to work fine (the planter is functional) and resolves the issue for any other player home with the same issue. I have not run across any others, but that just means SOS hasnt freaked out in those homes yet lol. Hope this helps folks out.

Update: To be more specific I changed the race on the planter (BYOHPlanterNPC, listed under Non-Player Character) in hearthfires.esm to SlaughterfishRace "Slaughterfish" [RACE:00013203]? from Nord race. The race field is called RNAM-Race. Been working fine with no other issues since.

Hi. Not working for me at all. I had to coc to Riverwood to get out because it was spamming so much. Sad I can"t use because it's such a lovely upgrade to the house.

It isn't compatible with Shlongs of Skyrim, so if you're using that mod, you may have to make a choice between mine or that one. I wish I could tell you more about it but as I never used that mod, it took years before I even knew that it conflicted.

That's just such a weird conflict, I may try this out. I had another exterior addition to this home from another mod so i'm not sure how well it'll play together, but downloading to endorse nonetheless as this is a nice looking mod!

I'm also assuming with that conflict issue if i'm playing as any race besides Nord I should hopefully be fine lol.

Agreed. It's because the planter NPC that is needed for extra planters, is actually a Nord. If you open up the file in CK, or any that adds additional planters- you can see that they are used in order to plant things. Weird, I know- but I'd rather have a house mod than SoS. That mod is a pain in the arse anyway.

Hej, sorry, can you explain how you changed the race in xEdit?

EDIT: Also, I'm playing a Bosmer and still getting the bug. I think my follower Erik the Slayer might be a Nord, but the bug is still happening even if I leave him outside.

EDIT again: I found a .esp that supposedly should fix it here: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/95031-schlongs-of-skyrim-se/page/97/?tab=comments#comment-3288768

EDIT 3: Nevermind, that didn't fix it

I'm sorry I can't help you. Sadly, SOS is incompatible with many mods. I don't actually know how it works so I can't fix it, as I never played with it. Maybe consider asking the maker of that mod?

This fix made my day when I found it, to the point I automatically go in and change the race even when I'm not using the Full version of SOS. I'd rather my planters be Slaughterfish than worry my skin mods are trying to edit things. :)

Also, to the people for whom this is not working - it seems to work best when done before building. I've had to clean my save if I forget until after.

Just use a normal dick on your character with SOS mcm menu, the muscular dick is what causing the issue.

The reality is, you'll likely have to pick between SOS and my mod. I know there are ways around that, but I'm no longer playing or updating my mods. Sorry I don't have any other solutions for you.

    Hello,

Just to be sure about compatibility with Alternate Start :

I wanted to check the Windstad manor by using Alternate Start option.

However, a lot of the clutters are clipping.

I read your conversation in 2017 with ashleyclark. If I undersand it correctly, we need to obtain the house through the vanilla way in order to not have the clutters clipping ? (which means the quest + purchase)

EDIT : indeed need to do it the vanilla way + avoid some purchases as mentioned in the description.

Yes, that is correct. If you want to use any of my house mods for Hearthfire, you have to obtain the houses the normal way because if you use Alternate Start, the houses are already furnished and finished. A little more work I know, but worth it I think.

Could I ask you fwew question?
Is this mod compatible with Windstad Estate Fully Upgraded SSE Port or just Windstad Exterior Additions ?

If I have already bulid main hall and entry hall with full furniture before this mod install, can I install this mod?

Hi, It should be compatible with Exterior Additions, not sure about the SEE Port.

I made a lot of changes for both the main hall and entry hall. Did you build all of furniture? If so, your save will clip quite a bit with my mod. I would
suggest you go back to a save prior to have building any of the furniture within.

I try checking and found Windstad Estate Fully Upgraded SSE Port is not compatible with this mod.
and if I build all furniture in main hall, I found some clipping furniture which I still can disable them since there isn't too much :)

Looks very nice inside, just been testing building it as last 3 playthroughs been hit with the Hearthfire drafting table bugging out. I use Schlongs of Skyrim and in the past could never enter this house as got hit with that annoying 'you can't plant that here' repeating over and over even though I played as a female breton or dark elf with this installed. But today I followed the advise given below and changed in the Hearthfire esm non player character in planter race from Nord to the slaughterfish race and it worked and could finally enter. I wish I knew why it never worked here but does for other properties that have internal planters but happy I finally have a decent sleepover place in the marsh.

Summarizing the post about the planter popup mesage, and understanding that is Schlongs Of Skyrim the cause of the problem, i simply "fixed" it ingame using the showracemenu command to change my character race to any other but nord, and unchecking nords in the VectorPlexus Muscular option in the SOS menu.

Is not ideal if you want to see proud nordic dicks swinging around i guess (i just want SOS for my char), but is better than nothing.

    UPDATE:

I've found a way to stop the popup messages from appearing.
The solution that worked for me was to open the mod in xEdit, and remove the BYOHPlanter NPC's from the Windstad Manor cell.

I have no idea why this should work, as it just refers to the basegame planters, but perhaps it somehow conflicts with a planter script from CACO, or something?

    Just thought I'd share.

    ***

    It's beautiful, I love it :)

I have a strange issue, it seems others have variations of as well.
When I enter Windstad, I get spammed by a neverending supply of dialogue boxes saying "You can't use that here", with an OK button.

If I figure out what is causing it, I'll let you know.

    Cheers

Yeah, it's a mod conflict, and I was using CACO when I redid this mod so I don't think it's that particular mod, but something else that I don't use and other people seem to. Glad you got it figured out though.

Oh thank you @caveat so much for figuring this out! This was driving me absolutely nuts, and I thought it was something totally unique and weird on my end.

After removing the Planter NPC's, you additionally have to remove the references from the TWSoil01-03 to these Planter NPC's or the game won't start. I recommend running an error check on the mod after deleting the Planter NPC's and then go from there.

Only removing TWSoil01-03 (and their editor ID in the planter themselves) didn't work. I noticed though only three of the five planterNPC's are referenced by a TWSoil NPC.
I am not using CACO. The only mod I use that would influence the planter script is "more plants all extra" and the Bruma extension for it.

The weird thing that it didn't happen initially. And after it started it seemed to accumulate and spread:
      - The first time I was able to pass by the zone after clicking a couple of times.
      - The second time I had to use a side entrance already, but was still able to aproach the zone from behind and by clicking on it a couple (10-20) of times was able to get rid of the messages beeing able to leave through the main entrance.
      - The third time I wasn't even able to get near the entrance area and even a hundred times clicking didn't resolve it.

Am I glad I was able to fix this problem with a little help.

I checked your original esp against my complete load-order:
The only item from the "more plants all extra" mod that is affected by both the mods is the crafting container (BYOHHouseCraftingChest "Chest" [CONT:03003055]) not any of the planterNPC's or anything else. The patch has nothing in common with your mod at all.
In fact; the planters or soils don't show up as beeing overrriden at all. The only thing that your mod seems to override are some lights, a table and a kettle.

I thougth there must be an interferring script somewhere, but when I opened an old savegame from inside Windstad (from where the bug still existed), I didn't notice anythig out of the order regarding your mod either. There were five byohplantercontainer-scripts and 5 byohplantersoilscripts, for each planter one. No other planter scripts were detected and no planter or soil- script showed up as existing in the thousands anywhere.

I just wanted to add. I am using this together with your Master and Child-bedroom makeover and it is really fantastic and actually worth the trouble.

I know this is and older post, but I've run into the same or like issue with the entry planters telling me I can;t plant that here - over and over. So, I guess I'll be editing the file as well. I fixed one of the pots by getting close enough to target it to plant something else (snowberries) instead... so I do not get that message from that planter anymore the two at the front door however really scream before I could get close enough... noisy lot they be. Anyway, this is probably the nicest mod of a player home as it's lore-friendly and does not go over-board. I always get all the player homes (what I mean by that is get a home in every hold and thane-ship) The hearthfire homes really have little love in respect to mods... there are very few which make the home seem like a home without living well beyond that of the high-kings or emperors. Most people mess with the exteriors... and while I want exterior changes I do not want any modern looking swimming pools etc... just some stable, maybe a few small amenities such as a greenhouse - just keep it small and reasonable, of course walls and a couple guards to hire is enough - in fact I think guards should be paid monthly to retain them, etc... Anyway, as I said I rank this one of the best.

So strange! You'd think that the issue would show up in Xedit and be very obvious. Oh well. If I ever start to have some time I could add a version without the extra planters, but I've always enjoyed them so I never bothered, and most other people have as well. Thanks for posting your results, I appreciate that. :)

I ended up removing those BYOHPlanter NPC objects also. I do not know why but there are five of them in sub-cell 8, three with soil markers and two without.I do not know enough about modding having been away from it for so long, Anyway on a quick test that seemed to do it, will test more later this evening because I really am working atm but have a long wait on a PL/SLQ compile. ;)

I don't have this mod but I stumbled across this mod while trying to trouble shoot this exact same issue for another player home mod that uses HearthFires assets, aka and specifically the "planter" NPC.

I did some rather deep digging and I did thanks to another form bug report stumbled across the problem, though sadly I don't know of a solution to this problem thus yet.

I found that the problem specifically has to do with any mod that singularly and generally targets the "Race: NordRace" NPC identifier. If this happens the planter NPC is targeted and due to it's settings can not to be edited, adjusted or changed in any way. For me the issue was an adult mod which I imagine many here are likely bashful about admitting what adult mods they use. The adult mod known as "Schlongs of Skyrim" is what caused the error for me and typically is the exact culprit and offender of this problem in most circumstances due to how it works.

You see, the hidden NPC "Planter" is a NordRace NPC with the base form of 03008248. Because this asset is an NPC with the appropriate race of Nord SOS attempts rather valiantly to attach it's object to this NPC but can't. As a result player sadly gets spammed by a never-ending supply of dialogue boxes saying "You can't plant that here" with an OK button (this is typically encountered when using custom homes like this one here.)

I tested this to be sure this was the culprit by loading my save game 5 times to make sure I always got the dialogue spam. Then on the 6th time, leaving the mod running I deselect all SOS features and assets from being applied to the Nord Races specifically while still leaving the mod actually running. The results were instant and the spam ceased from occurring ever again when I re-entered my player home.

The problem is that most NPC's are Nords in this game and disabling the asset for Nords renders it pointless. I posted this issue in the discussions of the creator for SOS and am awaiting a reply. If you don't use this mod, narrow down mods that specifically modify the "Race: NordRace" attribute and you'll likely find your conflict, which would cause this conflict for any mod that uses this Hearthfires asset.

PS: And in regards to SOS, no, disabling the notifications does not work since it only disables the text in the top left corner of the screen and has nothing to do with dialogue boxes as an FYI.

      UPDATE:
I did find a temporary solution for those who use SOS in the mean time but it's very inefficient, tedious and tricky.
See, I have an older PC so I get a little bit of a delay after a dozen clicks or so that while clicking ok I can spam my console key and open up it up to enable "tcl" (this toggles collision) so that I can not only stop the boxes but also phase through the walls to the planter NPC's that control the Hearthfires assets.
Simply put, I can target the NPC and through the MCM I can go to the Player/NPC menu and select "no schlong" for the specific NPC.
      The downsides?
      - I have to do this one at a time (which isn't to bad if the mod only has 3 or 6 planters in the mod.)
      - Mods that have 1-3 dozen planeters however is extremely tedious and impractical but the fix works regardless!

I figured I'd share my temporary measure with everyone but am completely unsure if anyone using better gear than I would be unable to end the dialogue box spam long enough to open the console in the first place. For those curious what I have, it's a fourth generation i7-4771 and an old Samsung Evo 500GB SSD with 32 GB's of DDR3 RAM. I am uncertain what results proper modern hardware with the latest 10th and 11th generation processors, DDR4 RAM and m.2 would yeild.

For anyone with lighting issues, just get Relighting Skyrim (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8586), works fine and there are several patches for it.  The lighting is perfect for the house - not dark and cave-y, not bright and glaring.  Full of win.

Redprincess, thank you so much for this update for Windstad.  It's my favorite house, too, but the Vanilla homes (not just HF, all of them) are garbage, and even other Windstad mods here on the Nexus seem to be more of a celebration of storage.  You'd think that anyone who's actually building a house would want solid, clean furniture instead of walls made of gapped driftwood and barrels every-goddamned-where.
