Weirdly enough, this just opens my inventory after the dialogue. Like, I can equip items and stuff if I click on them. What could be causing this? Or I just don't understand how the mod works?
That's right, it opens your inventory so you could choose and click on the item you wish the blacksmith/enchanter to tinker with. After that you'll get a confirmation prompt about the service cost.
I troubleshooted this for a bit and the cause was "Fast RandomInt()" in Experimental section of po3Tweaks. It's off by default, but I turned it on some time ago to see if something bad is gonna happen. I guess there it is Sorry for the trouble haha
This mod is really cool. Thank you for it! I wish I knew about your mods sooner.
I made an incredibly minor tweak for those who are bothered by the wording of the new dialogue options.
Can you recharge my enchanted items for me? --> Could I hire you to recharge some enchanted items? Can you repair my gear for me? --> Could I hire you to improve some equipment?
As a side note, I noticed that this mod has a strange interaction with Skyrim Souls wherein the items you improve via a blacksmith are 'dropped' in front of you while in the barter menu. Not a crazy bug or anything, but a minor break in immersion.
Hello its me again :) i found a bug i wish to report. When using your tempering service for a weapon while the weapon is in a wheeler slot (wheeler mod) it gets bugged where lats say a crossbow after tempered remains in the wheeler slot but you dont have that weapon anymore because you got a superior one. Also that same tempered weapon cannot be placed back into a wheeler slot until dropped out of players inventory and then picked up again. My workaround is simply remove anything from the wheel that i want to give to temper or recharge. Not a big deal just a heads up :) Your mod is amazing and endorsed ofc!
I think you should replace the repair in the dialogue line with either: improve, modify or temper, but good concept nonetheless, this could have easily been in the base game.
Just discovered this mod today after installing LoreRim 2. Nice and simple, great stuff.
The only thing I miss from Honed is the passage of time ... I always found it very immersive to drop off a set of gear at the blacksmith and then have to wait several hours until they'd finished working on it.
I've run into another problem, it seems NPCs can't temper artifacts. Is this intended? I'm using Vestige but even after turning it off some artifacts do not show up in the temper menu.
So far every daedric artifact though I didn't have all of them at the time. Every dragon priest mask when using Vestige or Artificer but not when it's just vanilla.
I checked and you're right, they don't appear. This is because they lack the "VendorItemWeapon" and "VendorItemArmor" keywords. If you'd like the smiths to temper those you can simply install KID mod and make an ini file, then put: Keyword = VendorItemWeapon|Weapon|Da06VolendrungThat adds the keyword to Volendrung, you can do the same for other weapons/armors.
Sorry I've never used KID before so this might be a dumb question. Am I right in assuming, since I use Vestige, that I can simply add Keyword = VendorItemWeapon|Weapon|Vestige.esp Keyword = VendorItemArmor|Armor|Vestige.esp to make it so all weapons and armors modified by it to have the keyword without having to do them one by one?
Edit: It doesn't work lmao. I ended up listing them one by one. Maybe someone else can make it work.
Added an optional file for this :) Just a note about KID, you can add the keyword to multiple items at a time, you just need to comma-separate the items.
Love the simplicity of this mod. I think there's an incompatibility with Improved Alternate Conversation Camera though, whenever I use the service the camera zooms out and goes down to the ground. Could be a totally unrelated conflict but I honestly have way too many mods to troubleshoot such a tiny issue.
OH!, this is a great Idea for recharging weapons that alone makes this mod great, but the inclusion of smith being able to temper.... just shows how much beth dropped the ball, these really should have been base game XD.
