amazing mod! could you add a version where it doesnt restrict to blowdarts and allows all bolts? I'd like to combine this mod with modded bolts that paralyze hehe
Nope, sorry no longer working on it. You can always just add a paralysis poison tot he darts though, use the mods I mentioned in the description page to get more uses out of poisons.
*nevermind I used CK and did it. Blowgun set to non hostile and blowdart set to 0 dmg. If you want the file to post I can send!
*HUZZAH. For CK, the reload sound is located in (Object Window): Actors>Sound Descriptor>WPNCrossbowReload (+quickshotperk file right after) . Easier solution for anybody working with CK: edit both sound files and change 'Static Attenuation' to lower the reload volume for stealthier gameplay (I made mine ~25dB, still realistic/immersive)
*sorry for being annoying. don't know if the crossbow anim can be duplicated and renamed for Blowgun to call on so we can have unique reload sound instead of generic crossbow. I'll try and send you file if I can do it
for mod users: highly, highly recommend making above changes and using 'Ragdoll Paralysis' mod and 'Loot Paralayzed People' mod. applying paralyze poison to blowdart, blowgunning them, watching them slump down, and loot them for keys or items, is the most wonderfully immersive add to stealth gameplay
I can dig it. Of course, my experience of blowdarts in cinema includes the Bushmen of _The Gods Must Be Crazy_ (In which we see !Xi doing just this, poofing out a bluntish dart with a contact soporific that causes the startled critter to get tired and go to sleep. The Narrator explains that !Xi talking to it after is the Bushman basically apologizing for hunting it at all but his family needs the meat)
would it be possible to add an optional file with the changes added that another user made here...namely: no damage, no sound and non hostile of the blowgun and the blowdarts?

Yup! As long as you don't have any patches that rely upon it as a master, it's good to go! I've been using a compacted ESP-FE version for months now with no problems.

honestly the two should be used together, and then added to the Forsworn leveled list at about 20% occurance rate of the bow. It would be a rare enough occurance to not be annoying, and yet make dealing with the Forsworn a much more interesting encounter.
and great assassins too like for the DB and their questline i found the blowgun very useful best part for it was at the vici wedding put her husband into rage mode and just let him slaughter vici i was laughing
Potential mod idea for some talented folks reading this: maybe it is possible to replace the crossbow animations using Dynamic Animation Replacer, so it is actually shot like a blowgun, while crossbows remain normal?
Hi there, I'm not a moder just a gamer, so sorry if this is a known issue, but I made some poisons to use with this weapon and as soon as the dart hits the target I get a CTD. Is this me, using too powerful a poison? (2300 hit points jarin root poison) or am I conflicting somewhere? Thanks for making an awesome mod like this!!
Could be an issue with the numbers, but usually if they exceed the max damage amount it would just go in to negative numbers (same happens if you over Smith weapons). Crashing makes me think it might be applying a mod added effect that may be corrupt. Effects often have animated nifs, which don't convert well from LE, so might be something like that
I also don't think it is caused by an integer overflow, since I was able to use jarrin root poison with this (also used strong alchemy buffs), and it remained within boundaries.
