About this mod

Modifies the Ghostblade to be more useful in later game, without being hugely unbalancing.

Permissions and credits
One of my favourite weapons in the game is the Ghostblade - I love the aesthetic, and the story behind how you get it. It's got a unique enchantment that makes it a very nice early game weapon.

The problem is, it's an early game weapon. In unmodified Skyrim, it has a base damage of 8 (less than an Iron Sword), it doesn't benefit from any Smithing perks, and the unique enchantment isn't enough to offset this. By the time you've got time to go to Ansilvund and get it, the sword is little more than a shiny novelty to hang on the wall: you've almost certainly got better.

This mod seeks to fix that, and modify the weapon so that it's a more viable option. It does *not* make the Ghostblade the best in the game, but it does make it powerful enough to be a reasonable choice without crippling yourself.

What it actually does:
Spoiler:
Show

- Increases the base damage from 8 to 13.
- Increases the attack speed to 1.1. This is slower than a dagger (1.3), but faster than most swords (1.0)
- These two combined put the base damage output for the Ghostblade about par with a glass or Stalhrim sword.
- Allows the Ghostblade to benefit from Daedric Smithing perk. NB - I won't be changing this. It's an otherworldly weapon given to you by a ghost. It shouldn't benefit from Steel smithing.
- Increases the unresistable damage enchantment from 3 to 10. Coupled with the increased damage output, this is roughly par with a dragonbone sword with a low level enchantment on it.
- Does *not* allow further enchantments on the Ghostblade, and does *not* allow disenchanting to learn the unique enchantment. This is what keeps it balanced - an Ebony, Daedric, or Dragonbone sword with high level enchants on it can easily outclass this version of the Ghostblade, though the unlimited enchantment on the Ghostblade keeps it in the running as a good choice of weapon.

If somebody wants to port it over to the console versions, they can.
If you're looking for an overpowered/godly version of the weapon, smolbean69 has made one here.
