Morthal's Old Gate Mill is a centuries-old structure built into the shallows in the center of the river bordering Morthal's northern side. With striking views of Fort Snowhawk on one side and Skyborn Altar on the other, this prime piece of property is available only to those who become favored in the eyes of the Jarl of Morthal.
Description
A simple player home for purchase.
The house has been designed with in-game integration in mind. This means:
much of the clutter is interactable;
all of the lights in the house can be switched on and off;
the key can be purchased from Jonna at the Moorside Inn provided the player's relationship rank with the current Jarl is high enough; and
the visuals of the house fall under an immersive vanilla+ philosophy and some lore-friendly backstory has been included as well.
The facilities in the house include a bed (properly well-resting), cookpot, alchemy lab, and plenty of storage (visual bookshelves included). For enchanting and smithing, players are recommended to visit Falion's house and the town smithy respectively. This is an intentional balancing and roleplaying design choice, as the house is quite affordable and easy to get.
Installation
I recommend using MO2.
Compatibility
The mod is perfectly standalone and should be compatible by default with all mods, even those that edit Morthal, including The Great Cities, Fortified Morthal, Cities of the North, and Northern Roads. In fact I recommend using a Morthal overhaul together with this mod!
