About this mod

Fireglass Armory is a small mod that adds a standalone variant of Glass armor and weapons (NOT a retexture) to the game. Fireglass comes in both heavy and light armor types, and has unique crafting recipes and properties. Fire enchantments placed on Fireglass are 25% stronger.

Fireglass Armory adds a standalone set of new armor and weapons to the game, with complete racial, gender, and weight slider support. Unlike other glass retextures, all Fireglass equipment used edited meshes with the correct specular colors, so no more green shine on these fiery items. The included textures are based on the High-Res DLC/Vanilla Optimized Textures, so they look great. The male and female chest plates use 2k textures, and the other armor and weapons use 1k.

Fire enchantments placed on Fireglass are 25% stronger (much like Stalhrim with frost in the vanilla game).

Armor

Fireglass Armor comes in both light and heavy variants. Light armor is comparable to Stalhrim Light armor in terms of stats, and heavy is on par with Ebony armor (but lighter).

Fireglass Armor can be crafted as long as you have the Glass Smithing perk. Light Fireglass Armor requires Malachite and Steel ingots to craft, and Heavy Fireglass Armor requires Malachite and Ebony ingots.

Weapons

Fireglass weapons are slightly stronger than their Glass counterparts, while remaining as lightweight as glass.

In order to craft Fireglass weapons, you need the Glass Smithing perk. Fireglass weapons are crafted from Malachite and Steel ingots.

Support

Fireglass Armory has full support for beast races, both genders, and the weight slider. This may seem obvious since it's a Glass variant. But once again, Fireglass uses its own meshes and care was taken that each and every model was carefully carried over and edited to match the new look. NO races left behind!

Distribution

Fireglass is distributed to loot and vendor lists dynamically via a one-time script. No bashed patch is required.

Templates

While creating Fireglass Armory, I made templates for every piece of glass gear that allows for easy recoloring of each individual piece of the equipment. Each texture has been separated to its different materials, so it's easy to change, say, just the color of the glass, or just the color of the metal. This took a while but when finished allowed me to apply my retextures in <10 minutes. These are GIMP files (but can be converted to .psd files for photoshop users) and I'm putting them up as a resource in case anybody wants to make their own recolors of Glass armor. In addition, feel free to disassemble this mod if you want to learn how to make standalone armor mods. I used the CK texture set approach for applying textures, but in the future I'll be pathing textures manually in nifskope to save myself some work.

The templates can be found on the OG Skyrim download page.

Permissions

This mod can be used as a modder's resource. Permissions are completely open and you are free to do whatever you want with the textures, meshes, or .esp.

Installation

I recommend installing with Nexus Mod Manager. Otherwise, add the contents of your download to your Skyrim\Data folder. Fireglass Armory uses one script (to apply the bonus enchantment power perk, just like Dragonborn and Stalhrim). This script is tagged with the MODGA prefix for easy removal.

Compatibility

Compatible with everything, full stop. Fireglass Armory doesn't edit any vanilla records, and includes all its own resources (meshes and textures).

Credits

Thanks to  the wonderful users of r/skyrimmods for providing excellent screenshots for the mod page. They were so helpful in fact, that I have too many to include. Many can be found in the images section, and for the rest I can link directly to the source. Thanks again everybody! :)
