adding papyrus utils to ur mod order fixes the read/write issue btw just helped a friend fix it for his modlist maybe add it as a depen even tho it doesnt "need" it

you're welcome. I was quite shocked when I wanted to use the most popular lantern mod, and realized how complicated the process was just to get the lanterns working. I was even more shocked that no one who had figured it out had posted the finished product as a mod or even a link somewhere, so that's why I made this.

I'm just having a single problem that persists in both this mod and the original. The automatic on/off when standing/sneaking at night or in the dark doesn't work in first person when a weapons is drawn. It works great in every other scenario.
Sneak/stand in third person with weapon sheathed: automatic on/off works.
Sneak/stand in third person with weapon drawn: automatic on/off works.
Sneak/stand in first person with weapon sheathed: automatic on/off works.
Sneak/stand in first person with weapon drawn: automatic on/off does not work until I either go to third person view.
I played exclusively in first person, but assumed it was a feature not a bug. If your hands aren't free how can you turn off/on a lantern? Was more immersive for me personally. But someone may have to make a patch if they want to change this. I didn't use the automatic feature anyway because it tended to be a little laggy.
My lantern is only visible when i hold it in my hand. If i have the back/front option on there is light, but no lantern textures.. Anyone know what might be the issue?
I remember having issues like this depending on my torch, and enb light related mods. Be very careful with your mods relating to lights and spells, as many of the fomods contain confusing language relating to patches and load order etc. Just be very confident of your lighting mods, how they interact with each other, and you shouldn't have any issues with this one. My guess would be that you have a patch active for a mod that you're not using.
I've tried this mod and Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered by QwibQwibMods and both are having the same issue (they weren't enabled at the same time) Whenever either mod was enabled, the lanterns don't show up in game. I have the MCM menu for this one and I can change stuff there, but the lanterns never actually show up in the crafting menu or in merchants' inventories. Are there any mods known to conflict or any idea why this is happening? With the ENB's I have installed, they make Skyrim beautiful, but trying to go through dark interiors or dungeons are almost impossible without a mod like this. Please help ):
You have to level up your smithing perk to the first or second level, so that the lanterns will show up at the smithy crafting menu. Also note that it's considered armour so look for the armour icon if you're using SkyUI. I think you need leather strips and iron ingots in your inventory for the recipe to be highlighted as well.
I had no problem with the original Chesko Mod, it worked really fine, but I want to try this updated one. The only problem I have is, that the Lantern uses slot 59, the same as side right bandoiler, from Bandolier - Bags and Pouches Classic by Dragten. How can I use both at the same time? Can I change the slot of one item? These slots are occupied by bags Side Left - slot 52 Side Right - slot 59 Back Left - slot 48 Back Right - slot 55 Front Left - slot 58 Front Right - slot 57

and then it will turn on and off with a weapon equipped only if I am in 3rd person...
Any ideas?
mine can turn on and off if i was only on 3rd person, 1st person can... but only when seathed weapon which is weird.
