I just updated LOOT and it gets majorly upset about two files, specifically the second tower LOD and second tower OD. It says "This plugin contains records that have FormIDs outside the valid range for an ESL plugin. Using this plugin will cause irreversible damage to your game saves". It seems to be saying that you've been bad (that's my job).
Have you any words of wisdom about this ominous sounding pronouncement from LOOT? :)
Edit: thinking about it, it sounds rather like wild edits...a place to start? And BTW, all the files I'm using are parallax when offered.
Sorry for the late reply. i have some bad habbits i forgot to update the final plugins and meshes before uploading i keep repeating this my bad, it happened for most of my mods u can easily fix using xedit. i'll try to update it as quickly as possible. Thank u for letting me know.
Edit: The error usually caused by lights or some objects added after i converted it to esl. i don't know exact reason im no pro. i'll be careful from now on.
I can see where the errors are flagged in the logfile, they are in static placed objects (like you said) in a specific block/sub block, this in the second tower LOD plugin. They are under the heading "Temporary". The -QAC option doesn't delete them. Are saying that we should delete these manually? Or would it be better to wait till you update these the way you actually intended?
in the sse edit uncheck the esl flag and save it and then open the file again right click compact for esl and check the esl flag. if the error persist then the object that causing it have to be removed or replaced through creation kit. Sorry i'm not having enough free time these days i will try to release an update as soon as possible. Hope u understand. Thank you !
I was having some navmesh issues around the second tower. Could have been a mod conflict, but I have zero mods that affect the interior of Whiterun. I noticed a bunch of npcs were clustering around the Gildergreen tree. The moment I disabled this mod, the issue went away.
I have most of this working with "Whiterun has Walls Redone" and it fits in perfectly. These imperial towers make me feel so safe! The only thing a bit off is the lod for tower 2. I get the tower but not the OD. Strange, tower 1 shows fine. My load order goes like this tower 1 T1 Observation deck tower 2 T2 Observation deck T1 lod, T1 OD lod T2 lod, T2 OD lod Seems OD lod works for tower 1 but not for tower 2. Am I missing something?
for fun...Lydia pushed me off while I was tinkering...I died...the game resurrected me...a Whiterun guard accused me of murdering ...myself?? And he went all FBI on me, it took quite a bit to calm him down. He still has his 'eyes on me'.
Let me know if I got anything in the order wrong, k? 'cept for this one little quirk, it all works great.
Thanks for letting me know i have reuploaded the files download it again it will now work correctly. you have installed correctly fault is on my side i named the nif file wrong thats why it didn't loaded. And for fun i beat all the npc's made them to follow me to the top of the tower and Dragon shout them it was satisfying lol.
Thanks man, you got it! Now we have two complete towers and lod. Gandalf thanks you too. Suggestion: I bet you could merge the towers/deck files, it would cut the number in half. I rather doubt anyone would mind. It's not like they're in anyone's way up there.
First it was a single file. Then i seperated it thinking what if somepeople just want the tower alone. On the next update i'll make it as a fomod installer. so it'll be helpful for the users. Thanks again for the suggestion. :D
OK, I'll admit I like the idea of a tower to view the surrounding areas (at least that the watchtowers don't cover). I'm just hesitant about the location. Right now where you have it at the center of the courtyard limits its view in at least 30-40% of its perimeter. Stupid Dragonsreach.
I don't know that I could offer an alternate location, as Dragonsreach is almost ALWAYS going to get in the way (unless you added it to the top of Dragonreach itself). But for people who use mods that augment Whiterun to the opposite side of Dragonsreach, like Warbird's Whiterun Metropolis (and one other I can't think of the name of ATM), the only alternative I can think of is TWO towers. One on each side of the palace. But then... logistics. Where to place them, etc. I prefer my courtyard open, but I guess if you moved or created an alternate location in the upper levels of Whiterun it would not need to be as high.
I think I'm coming off as overly critical today, and that's not intended. More of a "realist criticism/suggestions". IE what would they do to defend their city? But I have a tendency to get overly realistic (funny for a game with flying dragons). Maybe place one at the gate on the backside of Dragonsreach, replacing part of the already existing gate "towers"? I don't know. Now I'm just spit-balling trying to avoid work. :) They're just suggestions and it IS your mod, so when you're happy, you're done. The rest of us just live in the world you make.
there are not many places to place buildings as many mods already filled lot of gaps and even extended the city and i don't know a better place whre it will be more blend with the city and do not stand out. in the entire whiterun these are the only two places seems good enough to add a tower so..
Hi! I love the idea! I therefore got some questions:
Does LOD load the model of the tower rendering it from distance? (with the observation deck addon too)
Are patches for major Whiterun overhauls coming too?
Regarding patching, if it may help, I use Capital Whiterun Expansion which may require patching for the NPC sitting on the water well, and Green Thumb Whiterun (along with the already patched JK's Skyrim)which adds a really beautiful touch to the city.
I'd love so much to see more towers scattered around major cities with some variations (I know it might be a patching hell), as it gives a stronger Medieval taste, and makes an Italian like me feel more "at home" <3
If I can be of any help by producing models, after next monday I'll finally be free, and I was already planning to start making some models and learn proper modding :D
I'll add the LOD in the next update. And as for Patching I'll make more if people asks like you did and i'll make patches for the Capital whiterun expansion and Green Thumb Whiterun and if any thing else let me know. And im planning on adding towers to all the major cities in Skyrim as all of them have places like this. And as for the Modelling i'm still a noobie. im learning by developing mods. Thanks for the support :D
Now that you say so... Maybe a Bell and Blowable Horn addon would be so cool Speaking of my experience in my own country, towers were usually put between buildings, or set standalone in places like town squares, as you can see here and here about the beautiful San Gimignano!
Immediately installed, entered top of tower then fell off & died. Nice view though. Endorsed would be ne nice to see larger walking platform at top with safety barrier too though lol. Maybe a chair too? EDIT: just noticed add on platform, perfect thanks!

Great idea.
tower 1
T1 Observation deck
tower 2
T2 Observation deck
T1 lod, T1 OD lod
T2 lod, T2 OD lod
Seems OD lod works for tower 1 but not for tower 2. Am I missing something?

In my Load Order I got:
JK's Skyrim
Major Cities
Addons
Extras
Minor Cities
New Lands where would make sense
Solstheim
EDIT: just noticed add on platform, perfect thanks!
