About this mod

Fixes numerous bugs with the Neloth Follower and Spouse mod. Enables you to marry Neloth, and/or obtain him as a follower. Requires the original mod.

The original mod worked by overwriting dialogue topics for vanilla NPC followers, to enable follower dialogue for Neloth, thus breaking the vanilla companions in the process. Mjoll was the first one I'd noticed when checking through xEdit but it's very likely there were many more broken by that.

I've fixed this by taking the overwritten dialogue topics out, and made new topics instead. I then meticulously renamed the voice files to line up with their new formIDs so they'd still be voiced.

All lines that were voiced in the original mod should still be voiced here. I've tested marrying Neloth, and it's still functioning.

This requires the BSA from the original mod, get it here.

While you're there, be sure to read the original mod's description fully. Things mentioned there still apply.

KNOWN ISSUES:

The recruitment dialogue("Follow me. I need your help.") is unvoiced. This was an issue in the original mod as well. I could not, for the life of me, figure out why. I tried several different naming conventions for the line I was trying to get to play when you hire him but not a single one worked. Every other voiceline should be completely voiced.

Fixed as of Version 3. All lines are now fully voiced and lip-synced.

The command dialogue("I need you to do something.") doesn't actually enter command mode. No idea why, or how to fix it, nor do I particularly care. You can hold down activate to enter the command state just fine, and in the past year I've been actively playing Skyrim I don't think I've ever even used the command state a single time for any follower, vanilla or otherwise.

It's very possible this mod could have conflicts with other mods that add companions, specifically ones that edit the vanilla Quest "DialogueFavorGeneric" - this can be manually patched in xEdit fairly easily. If you don't see the topic to recruit Neloth, once you've gotten on his good side, then this is probably the reason why.

If you do come across a conflict like this, the easiest solution I've found is just remove all conditions(EXCEPT for "IsCommandedActor") on DialogueFavorGeneric entirely. This will make every mod which make changes to it work fully with each other with no issue or further patching.

Recommended mods to go along with this:

Morrowind Exquisite Robe

Briarheart on Solstheim for Neloth
Savvy's Neloth Replacer (COtR)[will require a small amount of patching in xEdit to work with this]
