The Problem

Know Your Enemy 2 and Rapid Bow Combo V3 are both great mods. However there is one mayor game breaking incompatibility: Rapid shots do not respect the resistance values introduced by Know Your Enemy 2.

What that means is, that you have a machine gun at hand that tears through anything that is highly resistant to bows. This is any enemy with some kind of iron armor, including the first Draugrs you encounter.
Regular shots are affected by the resistance which makes the dual rapid shots even more overly powerful. One rapid shot dels more damage than a single regular shot that takes 2 seconds to charge.

So for me this took away all the fun from the game since I could either deal very low damage with my bow and sword or could use my machine gun to tear through dragons and bosses.


The Solution

Luckily there is an easy fix for this problem. All we need to do is to add one line to a KID.ini file.


The way Rapid Bow Combo V3 does the Rapid Shot is by creating a dummy bow that shoots the arrows.
For some reason that dummy bow was not affected by KYE 2's SPID/KID despite the keywords being set correctly.
However once there is a dedicated KID entry for the dummy bow, it will be taken up by KYE 2 and properly affected by the resistances in place.

Installation & Compatibility

The zip file contains only a KID.ini file and no ESP. Do not worry if there is a warning. That is okay.
The file does not overwrite anything and does not need to replace anything.

You may add and remove the file any time and it will not break your game.
It does not even matter if KYE 2 or Bow Rapid Combo V3 are active. The file will simply have no effect.

This patch should be compatible with future versions of both mods. It is highly unlikely that one of the keywords will change.

tjhm4 allows patches to be made for his mods as long as they require his mods as master. My patch can not have an esp as a master since it does not contain one. The KID.ini file however does nothing on its own and only has an effect if both required mods are present. So from a technical point of view, this patch does have KNE 2 as a master and does nothing without it.

Further I do not alter anything in regards of KYE 2 or Rapid Bow Combo v3. All I do is to use KID to add a single keyword. Technically I am not sure if this is even considered a patch andif any permissions would be required in the first place, since nothing of the original mods is being altered or touched.
