It basically adds all the music of the same type to a list and plays them at random - like SPID for music, basically. It helps if you have a lot of music mods, to prevent you from having to merge them manually.
Got it thanks! So from what I understand it doesn't matter if the esp overwrites the original Skyrim music records and I can use your distribution with other mods like this one and it'll just work without issue?
Can you make one for Emeratu pleeeease? The author said he doesn't know how to do it, and Kussie, who also converts music mods, never responded to my request. You are my last hope! D:
It's certainly possible. On it ASAP. Might take a while tough because there's so many tracks. I'll see if I can do the extra music addon too after I'm done with this.
Yes, install all four (the music mods with their presets) as separate mods in MO2/Vortex and also make sure you have Music Type Distributor installed. If you've ever installed a SPID mod, this has the same installation process (literally install the SPID as one mod and the mod it distributes and let SPID do its thing).
My Loadorder looks like this. Most of the time ingame i only hear vanilla soundtracks and there are weird periods of silence wehere no music plays at all. I tried to find out, how to fix this but there are not much information for MTD to find :( Also your patch is the only one who doesnt overwrite. Are the other patches i got from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/119585 somehow different?
I have compared your plugin to the other plugins - they are similar but Kussie's Plugins had an additional .esp file which is already in the music mod. I dont know why there should be two .esp files as they are overwriting each other but maybe the one from the plugin has problems to acsess the music data from the original mod? Idk, but i deleted the additional .esp files and it seems it works better now xD
Added to my to-do list. As for doing it yourself, check the music groups in xEdit, take the last 5 digits of the FormID, and match them to the music group in the INI. It probably would be simpler to look at the description for Music Type Distributor for syntax and/or download the example INI in the optional files for MTD for an actual example. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
