Texture Notes
- These are all AI up-scales of the Vanilla Sky Textures.
- The color and alpha channels were up-scaled separate from one another to preserve details.
- All textures were up-scaled one at a time (no batching) and were further touched up in Photoshop when I felt the textures were over sharpened.
- Special attention was given to the mip maps for the starry sky texture to make stars appear a bit brighter than vanilla.
- Do you need these? Probably not. Since the sky textures are all viewed from a distance you're probably not going to notice a huge difference between these textures and the vanilla textures. However, I will admit that I think the auroras benefited from the up-scale. It's not a huge difference, but if you study them close enough you can see a difference.
- I did have to make some slight modifications to the aurora texture edges to eliminate noticeable seams after the upscale.
- Most of the textures have been up-scaled to 1k to 2k depending on the original texture size. A couple of the cloud textures are bigger because they have a rectangular instead of square layout.
Installation Instructions
This is intended as a modder's resource, but these can be used on their own.
- Download the FOMOD
- Install with your mod manager of choice
- The FOMOD has options for Auroras, Clouds, Moons, Night Sky, and Sun. You can choose to install everything or only specific categories.
- Make sure this mod wins any conflicts or you will not see any changes.
Compatibility
Not compatible with any other mods that modify the same sky textures. You can mix and match with other mods if you don't install the textures you don't want from this mod. For example, if you have another mod for moon textures that you like, simply don't click the moon texture option in this mod.
Permissions & Credits
These are vanilla textures just AI up-scaled. You are free to port these, use them as-is in a mod, modify them, or anything else you would like to do with them so long as it does not violate Bethesda's licensing for the textures. There is no need to credit me for these images.
