Apostasy is a modlist for Skyrim Special Edition, delivered through an easy-to-install Wabbajack setup. The modlist offers high-fidelity visuals, expanded and enhanced locations, new quests, and modern, action-oriented gameplay. Developed over the course of thousands of hours, with input from an experienced group of modlist creators and curators—known for lists like Arisen, Ascensio, Fahluaan, and Vagabond—Apostasy brings a refined and immersive Skyrim experience like never before.

Experience a fresh take on Modern Skyrim gameplay! Apostasy integrates MCO, TK Dodge, Stances NG, Maxsu Poise, and more to deliver a versatile and satisfying combat system that seamlessly supports both third- and first-person gameplay. Designed for cohesion, responsiveness, and visceral action, Apostasy’s combat is further enhanced by custom-made overhauls tailored specifically for this modlist.

Additionally, Apostasy features a finely tuned difficulty system that expands far beyond vanilla's basic damage scaling. These enhancements introduce a more dynamic and rewarding challenge. You can read more about these changes—and much more—here.

Gaze upon pleasing visuals and explore a dynamic Tamriel! Apostasy's visuals have been meticulously curated and optimized to maintain strong performance without compromising visual fidelity. Weather and lighting have been completely overhauled with Natural and Atmospheric Tamriel and GGUnit's Lux Suite. Cities and interiors have been redesigned and expanded, thanks to mods such as The Great Towns and Cities Series, RedBag's Skyrim, jkrojmal's interiors, and many more.

The overworld has been revitalized with Northern RoadsNature of the Wild Lands, and numerous location overhauls, creating a more immersive and varied landscape. Careful attention has been given to landscapes and grasses, ensuring each region features unique biodiversity and a distinct aesthetic. NPCs have also been carefully redesigned, featuring hand-selected replacers from over 50 mods (including some custom additions), to enhance character diversity and memorability.

It’s not just eye candy! Sound design has also been careful considered and evaluated. The list incorporates several mods that utilize Sound Record Distributor to enhance the Skyrim’s soundscape, the LORKHAN soundtrack replacer, and other expertly curated sound replacers for maximum satisfaction!

More choices, new friends, and a whole lot of content! Apostasy expands many vanilla quests, incorporating jayserpa's classic Quest Expansion series along with lesser-known works from mod authors such as TheOscar0 and MadAborModding. These modifications introduce fresh choices and alternative routes for many vanilla quests, offering up entirely new experiences to be had.

To further enrich the experience, new quest mods such as FrankFamily's Artifacts Series, Sirenroot, Extended Cut - Saints and SeducersWyrmstoothDAc0daVigilant, Unslaad, and more. With these additions, you can expect a wealth of new adventures throughout your journey.

Never face the world alone! Apostasy enhances many vanilla followers while also introducing a selection of high-quality, custom-voiced followers. Among them are Auri, FerisGore, KaidanKatanaRemiel, Serana Dialogue Add-On, Val Serano, and more! You may even encounter some never-before-seen followers, adding fresh dynamics to your journey.

Get lost in a living world with endless possibilities! Apostasy's NPCs feel more dynamic than ever, with improved animations, diverse daily schedules, and a world teeming with life. New creatures, structures, and environmental details enhance immersion and breath new life into the world of Skyrim.

The arsenal of weapons and armor has also been expanded, reintroducing fan-favorite weapon types present in Daggerfall and Morrowind. Armors from talented creators like 4thUnknownNordWarUA, and Pulcharmsolis have been seamlessly integrated, ensuring a natural fit within the world.

It Just Works™!  Apostasy has undergone extensive testing, with hundreds of custom patches and tweaks to ensure a fresh and stable experience. The modlist has been meticulously balanced and tweaked to provide an challenging, yet rewarding gameplay experience.

While no heavily modded Skyrim experience is entirely bug-free, ongoing support is available through the Discord*, where users can find installation guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and gameplay advice. Apostasy will continue to evolve, with improvements and fixes released over time based on user feedback.
