OK, you finally talked me into trying it. It's done now (version 1.1). If, like me, you still Don't Entirely Trust this newfangled ESP-FE stuff, the full-fat version (1.0) is still available.
For that sort of thing, I suggest a wider-ranging sound mod like Wildwood Echoes. This one is purposely kept small and simple, it only does one thing.
Curious that you should mention "mornings", because one thing I had thought about before was a "dawn chorus" effect for the forest areas... But I'm pretty sure most people would hate it. Either for being overwhelming or underwhelming, depending how loud it was pitched.
My pleasure. The cool thing about skylarks is that they produce this incredible, sustained song while flying, hovering over their territory. Think of the lung power that must take.
Well, first Skyrim froze and corrupted my saves. I tried to reopen the mod in Creation Kit to reverse what I'd done, and CK seized up too. Then Windows itself started playing up.
I spent a while trying to repair/recover the hard drive, but it was no use. Whole new computer time.
And while it probably didn't actually have anything to do with this mod, this was the last thing I attempted on that system. Before I tried it, things were working; afterwards, they weren't. So yeah. Not going there again. Can't afford it.
That's understandable even though I doubt that had anything to do with ESLification. Back when I had CC & SSEedit etc all installed on my old PC I could ELSify a mod in seconds. I'm sorry that happened to you though, it sucks to lose a PC and it sucks even more to lose the data on it. Thanks for the mod anyway.
Love the idea! Skylarks are such a characteristic part of Nordic summer soundscapes. :)
One question: are they as intense in-game as on the recordings you linked? They sound a bit...over-enthusiastic, for lack of a better term. In my experience, they're much more likely to sing intermittently and take breaks, presumably to listen for responses.
Just a few weeks ago, I was thinking the game lacked the lovely sound of the Skylark, especially out in the tundra. Thank you for filling this huge gap. What were bethesda thinking? Curlews, next?

How about the rustle of trees in the wind?

I'm not trying that again. Sorry.

Otherwise great mod!
