ARCANO PROJECT

Arcano is a personal project with the aim of enhancing the magic system of Skyrim by introducing new spells that seamlessly integrate with the vanilla experience. By leveraging existing vanilla features, my goal is to infuse Skyrim with a refreshing array of spells, enhancing variety and ensuring the fun that it was always meant to provide.


CURSE MAGIC FEATURES


  • 31 new spells for the Restoration school;
  • Variety and balance between damage and utility, enabling better Restoration focused builds;
  • "Curse magic" new aesthetic reusing vanilla effects;
  • Spells can be purchased and looted like any vanilla spell.


FULL LIST OF SPELLS


Novice
  • Deathfog: Cursed mist that does X points of Health damage per second to non-mechanical targets.
  • Profane Healing: Heals any non-mechanical target for X points per second, but caster loses X Health points per second. Profane Healing can kill the caster.

Apprentice
  • Absorb Vitality: Consumes the life force of a non-mechanical target, dealing X points of Health damage per second and healing the caster for the same amount.
  • AgonyCoats a non-mechanical target with a seal that causes X points of Health damage per second for 10 seconds. The effect does not stack.
  • Balance: When above 40% Stamina, caster is healed for X points, but loses 60 points of Stamina.
  • Burial: Targets below 20% Health that fail to resist are paralyzed and suffer 1 point of Health damage per second for 6 seconds.
  • Dark Debt: Steals X points of total Health from a non-mechanical target, which are lost after X seconds. The effect does not stack.
  • Doom: Circles of cursed energy that does X points of Health damage to non-mechanical targets.
  • Morbo: Hostile non-mechanical target at close range suffers X points of Health damage per second for X seconds. The spell is silent to others and imperceptible by the target.
  • Transfusio: Caster reduces one's own life force to recharge an (left hand equipped) enchanted weapon, losing Health while concentrating. Transfusio can kill the caster.

Adept

  • Decaying Eye: Cursed ball of energy that deals X points of Health damage to a non-mechanical target.
  • HarvestWhen above 50% Stamina, summons an energy of death that drains a large amount of your Stamina to make your Health regenerate faster for X seconds.
  • Havoc: If at full Health, a non-mechanical target suffers X points of Health damage.
  • Mirrored Seal: Lose 20 Health points to cast. A small amount of melee physical damage dealt to the caster is felt by the attacker for 30 seconds. Mirrored Seal can kill the caster.
  • Oppression: Non-mechanical targets below 40% Health that fail to resist are continuously staggered.
  • Silent Death: Concentrate to deal X points of Health damage per second to a non-mechanical hostile target at close range. The spell is silent to others and imperceptible by the target.
  • Spark of Life: Lose 30 Health points to cast. A dead body at close range that fails to resist is revived to fight for you for X seconds. Spark of Life can kill the caster.
  • Thirsty Soul: Lose 15 Stamina do cast. Creates a bond with any non-mechanical target that lasts for X seconds. Caster continuously absorbs a small amount of Health and converts it into Magicka until the end of the duration. The effect does not stack.
  • Twistsoul: Concentrate to deal X points of Health damage per second to a non-mechanical target.

Expert

  • Between Worlds: Caster becomes ethereal for X seconds in exchange of 15 Health points. Between Worlds can kill the caster.
  • Blood PactRestoration spells and effects becomes X% stronger for X seconds in exchange of 70 Health and Stamina points. Blood Pact can kill the caster.
  • Devour: Drains X points of Health per second for X seconds from a non-mechanical target. The effect does not stack.
  • Mortal Bond: Targets up to 150 feet away that fail to resist take damage equal to it's total Health. Caster is left with 1 Health point over own's maximum Health and loses all remaining Stamina and Magicka. Mortal Bond can kill the caster.
  • Ominous Aura: Caster loses 60 Health points to be surrounded by cursed energy that ignores half of all upcoming damage for X seconds.
  • Painful Prision: Pulls close and immobilizes a non-mechanical target, dealing Health damage every second. While concentrating, caster also loses X points of Health per second. Painful Prison can kill the caster.
  • Possession: Lose 30 Health points to cast. Non-mechanical target that fail to resist are placed under the caster's command and lose X points of Health per second for X seconds. Possession can kill the caster.
  • Ruin Circle: Caster loses 20 Health to release a mid-range wave of cursed energy that deals X points of Health damage and staggers non-mechanical targets. Ruin Circle can kill the caster.

Master
  • Momentum: A massive release of cursed energy focused on a non-mechanical target at close range that deals X points of Health damage and launches the target away.
  • PerishmentNon-mechanical targets take X points of Health damage per second.
  • Torture: Cursed energy consumes a non-mechanical target, dealing X points of Health damage per second for X seconds. The effect does not stack.
  • Usurper's Cloak: For X seconds caster absorbs Health from non-mechanical foes nearby.


INTEGRATION INTO SKYRIM

All spells seamlessly integrate into the leveled items system and can be obtained like any other vanilla spells through the corresponding vendors, loot and skill level. Note that until the current version only spell tomes are available, so it will not be possible to find staves and scrolls of these spells.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Latest version of Skyrim SE/AE.


COMPATIBILITY


Compatible with other popular spells and magic scaling mods, such as Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul, Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim, Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim, and so on. Also should be fine with everything else. But please let me know if you find anything troubleshooting worthy. 


INSTALLATION

  • Install via NMM or active the .esp file manually by the method of your preference. Also safe to (un)install mid game.
  • Uninstall like any other mod, but its recommended to unequip the spells and ensure that they are not in use to avoid possible glitches and bugs.
