is this fix the weather problem when visiting college? whenever I step on the bridge before enter college, any weather will shift back to vanilla. color changes is pretty noticeable when using community shader since its HDR tonemapping attached to weather mod. tried with Obsidian, NATIII, & azurite 3 the problem still there. this problem is caused by ICOW. any way how to fix this?
i know this question is gonna give you a headache so sorry in advance, but how required are the required mods? Specifically the paintings, smoking torches and candles, and the statue replacer.
For the paintings, I saw in a mod showcase that the mod adds paintings like wizard cats and while thats funny, its just not immersive at all For the statues, i use preadys college of winterhold which is a retexture for the whole college and improves the statues better then the required mod imo And the smoking torches imo are a bit cartoony looking
youve done fantastic work on this mod, but im not sure the extra mods you required are really necessary
A wizard cat?? It's a Khajit! You know... there is one amongst the students: J'Zargo...
So it's super immersive, because this painting is the depiction of a powerful Khajit wizard that inspired J'Zargo... that's why he is using fire spell on the painting.... like J'Zargo (at least that's what I imagined when I created the painting).
The paintings are not designed to be funny, they represent all the schools of magic (even the ones from morrowing that don't exist anymore...) and themes that are linked to the lore one way or another. You should really add them imo, and remove them if you don't like them afterwards, but it really improve the final results
The smoking torches can be removed if you don't like that
The one that i considered non optional, are the one that really enhance the atmosphere and the end result... but except ICOW, OCOW, UCOW + the patches and the fixes, pretty much everything else is optional... but it will not look as nice.
thank you for this. I like the concept of this mod, but my load order is already quite a mess -- I get wanting to make things look as best as they can be, but every mod added makes sorting and organizing my list more and more of a headache! realistically I probably should just stick with one or the other, but hey
May be worth updating the guide to clarify things as "soft" and "hard" requirements? Especially when people may have things that clash with some of the soft requirements, like Rudy HQ or the candle smoke mod.
(oh, and as for wizard cats: Alfiq are an underappreciated part of the lore ;P)
FYI, to those having CTD on startup it's probably an outdated patch from either Obscure's or Ultimate COW Patch. Best to not download many patches if any from those mods if your trying to get this to work.
Don't the midden expanded and Immersive College kinda clash? Both add extensive dungeons to the midden - but each offers conflicting explanations for the cause of the Fall, right? Is there a lore explanation? Excellent work overall, this is quite the patch/guide.
Do you have to put in LOOT custom rules or did it naturally worked out of the box? My plugin load order seems to be different from the one shown in the guide.

OCW_ICNs_OE_FEPatch.esp depends on ICNs_ImmersiveCollegeNPCs.esp. Missing masters warning.
EDIT: the screenshot ticked the immersive college NPCs only to say it is optional later. Guide needs just a little bit more clarity XDThis occurs after installing OCoW. I am on vortex.
*Embarrassed noises*EDIT EDIT: what is OCW_ICNs_OE_FEPatch.esp? it isnt on your load list but it comes with Obscure's College of Winterhold and I followed your screenshot
I can ask Jayserpa if he wants to add it natively 😅
that would be even better

When you say clash, you mean Lore Wise?
and getting error when generating lod:
Dont know how to fix it
I'm not sure you need it to generate the LOD and it's not a plugin I created anyway, so better to ask the original mod author himself
It's better to follow the guide
