Description

This mod adds a new power called "Soulshift" and two quests to obtain it, this power allows you to manipulate your soul and take the form of any person temporarily, allowing you to sneak into enemy areas (bandit camps, forsworn areas etc.) undetected at the cost of all your magicka being drawn to keep the soul shifted.

Acquisition

Quests

To start the quests to obtain this power you will need to go inside of the "Mehrunes Dagon Shrine", once inside you will see a skeleton to the left and next to it, a journal labelled "Mysterious Journal", reading this journal will get you started.

Recipe

During the quest you will learn of a recipe to make the spell tome at the Atronach Forge. (Sigil Stone required)
"Translated Daedric Text" note contains the recipe for it and the note is not labelled as a quest item, so be careful not to drop it.

Usage

Disclaimer

Now I want to make a disclaimer, this is my first proper mod and while I have done a lot of work in it, I doubt this is completely without bugs so my recommendation would be to save before you use the power just in case something goes wrong.

Targeting

The power has a long range, however seemingly only when in first person. If you are in third person it won't target the NPC unless you are relatively close to it (which can cause frustration if you are trying to not aggro so you can sneak in their area), so I recommend that if you need to target an NPC at a distance to switch to first person and activate the power while looking at them then switch back to third person.  

Actor Types

I have made sure that this power doesn't work on children (as this causes bugs) and any actor with the animal keyword (for obvious reasons) so there may be other actor types you could use the power on, so again I recommend that you only use this on humanoids, and if you have any suggestions for other keywords or actor types that should be disabled please let me know.

Faction Inheritance

A core concept of the power is inheriting the faction of the enemy you Soulshift into, the current enemy factions I included are Bandits, Forsworn and Vampires as to me these seemed like the bulk of the generic enemies you will encounter, but if there are any more enemy factions you want me to include, just let me know. NOTE: If you are in combat and you use the power, you won't inherit their faction, meaning they will continue to attack you, this is to make the enemies more "intelligent" to your usage of the power.

Duration

The power lasts for 9 minutes (in real life time), when the power ends you revert back to your original self. If you want to end the power early, wait 3 in game hours. (elegant I know, but it is the only method I have been able to make work)

Drawback

As a power not meant for mortals, using it will drain all your magicka in order to keep your soul from shifting back, when the power ends your magicka will return. (If for whatever reason your character has more than 100,000 magicka, then try not to use to use the power again until it ends, otherwise it will result in bugs)

Compatibility

This mod should be compatible with most mods, however I don't think this will work with any mods that add new recipes to the Atronach Forge.

Recommendations

This power uses the sound effect that plays whenever you soul trap something, so if you find it annoying I recommend you use either Soultrap Capture Sound - Smooth and Less Obnoxious by Macke or Soultrap Sound Edit - Calm Wind by ZeRo2545

I have spent several weeks and many sleepless nights making this mod and learning everything as I go. (lol rip my sanity)
