This mod is a simple overhaul of the Destruction tree in Skyrim SE. In place of halving the spell cost of Destruction spells, this mod instead increases the damage. This means Destruction spells are still powerful and viable in the endgame, but are still relatively balanced due to the skill tree offering no cost reduction.

This mod aims to fix the underwhelming nature of Destruction magic in Skyrim. While other Destruction skill line mods exist, I haven't found any that offer minimally invasive changes to the vanilla skill tree, while allowing for a viable endgame spellcaster build. This mod's changes are simple: it replaces the perks that half the cost of your Destruction spells, and instead increases the power of your spells at each level. By the time you reach higher levels, Destruction spells should become comparable in power with enchanted and improved weapons, but spells will still have the drawback of the cost not decreasing over time. These perks will affect both vanilla spells as well as spells from other mods.
At each perk point, spells of a certain level are given a 1.5x buff for each perk point attained below it, and lower rank spells receive an additional 1.5x. This ensures that lower rank spells did not receive more of a power modifer than higher rank spells.
The system works as follows:
Novice level spells receive a 1.5x boost Apprentice level spells receive a 2*(1.5x) boost, and lower ranked spells receive an additional 1.5x boost. Adept level spells receive a 3*(1.5x) boost, and lower ranked spells receive an additional 1.5x boost. Expert level spells receive a 4*(1.5x) boost, and lower ranked spells receive an additional 1.5x boost. Master level spells receive a 5*(1.5x) boost, and lower ranked spells receive an additional 1.5x boost.
Disclaimers: Due to Skyrim's internal mechanics of how cloak spells work, all vanilla cloak spells will NOT be affected by these perks!
Please keep in mind that this mod will also likely be incompatible with other Destruction tree perk mods.
