Description

A set of encounter zone edits I made for my own amusement and fun. All EZs start at level 1, and otherwise scale with the player indefinitely.
You need Encounter Zones Unlocked for proper scaling. ESP flagged ESL. Details in spoiler.

I effectively only made this because I'm a weirdo who found Oblivion bandits with OP stats pretty funny, and wanted to see how it'd play out in Skyrim. So with that mind set I went and set the minimum level of each encounter zone to 1. Then changed the max levels to 0, thus uncapping the max level of every area.

I'll use Kolbjorn Barrow for an example:
  • Vanilla's minimum level would be 30, even with a level 1 player, and only scale if you're a higher level than that.
  • With Colosseum, they have a minimum level of 1, and will scale along with the player's level regardless of what it might be.

As a second example, let's use Bleak Falls Barrow:
  • Vanilla's minimum level is 6, and caps out at level 20. Meaning any level player can reasonably do the quest but it's way too easy later on.
  • With Colosseum, the minimum level is 1, and the enemies are uncapped. In other words, prepare for Draugr Death Overlords if you ignored the main quest.

"Okay but why use this over Arena?"
I'm stopping you there: if you like Arena, you flat out shouldn't try to use this lol.
The mods aren't even comparable. The name "Colosseum" is mostly because this was gonna be an Arena addon at one point, but changed my mind last second since the mods are fundamentally so different. Simon's Arena mod is actually given deliberate consideration as to what levels things should be, and sets those limits appropriately. I just set the levels everywhere to match the player. It's tagged as a "humor, joke, or just for fun" mod for that reason: I wanted to see goofy overly inflated enemy stats.

TL;DR - This'll make the game considerably easier for low level players, harder for high level areas where scaling was capped, and generally make you able to go to any dungeon and any DLC at most levels. (Exceptions being cases of NPCs set to not scale with the player's level, of course.)

Install & Uninstall

To install, use a mod manager or extract the archive into the data folder.

To uninstall, deactivate in your mod manager or delete the mod's plugin from your data folder.

It's recommended to start a new save once installing. I can't promise enemy levels will scale as intended otherwise.

Compatibility

Incompatible with most mods that alter or add encounter zones.
Mods that add new enemies will work fine as long as they aren't touching any encounter zones.

Compatible with anything else not mentioned.
