About this mod

Adds Scorched Dragonbone weapons, which are more powerful dragonbone weapons, charred black.

Permissions and credits
Hey everyone, this is my first real mod, so if you find any mistakes or typos or anything, I'd appreciate the input

Announcement: Sorry everyone, but I won't be able to retexture the rest of the armours. I had to leave modding in general because school took up all my time, but even now that I'm back, armours are way more complicated than weapons, and texturing a single piece is way too time consuming. I will be working on my other mods though, and feel free to request retextures *only of equipment that's already in the mod*. If anyone would like to continue, don't hesitate to drop me a DM and I'll send you instructions on how to achieve the effect. You can use this as a general tutorial too if you want, but I'm sure there are better teachers than me on Youtube.

Description

Have you ever wished your Dragonborn didn't have to end the game with ugly beige dragonbone weapons? Then this is the mod for you!
It adds a tier of weapons above dragonbone, where the bones have been burned black by fire salts. Now you may say draconic materials shouldn't be affected by fire. Well that's why we're using demon fire. Also, it's perfectly logical that burning only makes dragon bones stronger.

Even so, shouldn't an entire bowl of the still-burning remains of a fire demon be able to improve more than just one piece of equipment? And they're so rare, too. I completely agree! This mod adds an additional item, Ember Salts, which is a single bowl of fire salts stretched into 10 bowls with the ash of a piece of firewood. This is the material you'll be using to forge and improve Scorched Dragonbone weapons and armor.

To go into more detail, I've made the bone parts black with grey accents (otherwise vanilla), like a charcoal that's been burning for a while. I darkened the wood/leather/metal parts, and desaturated them to better fit the color scheme. The shine is a darker, neutral grey compared to vanilla (which was bluish on the non-beige parts)

I've only done the weapons because that's all I use. I don't have the time to retexture everything. However, I did do the dragonplate helmet and made a heavy armour (and scorched) version of the dragonscale shield. That said, of what I have retextured, it's a quick job to change something up. If you want, say, red dragonbone weapons, feel free to ask. I'll try to fulfill any simple requests like that, but I'm not going to make a rainbow of options without demand

CORRECTION
I will be making scorched versions of all the armour, but it will take  a looong time. Don't expect it before Christmas, and even then it'll probably be quite a bit later.

I have two versions, one for vanilla and one for Leanwolf's BSW. The BSW one is only for the red Dragonbling option. You don't need to select that one when installing his mod, though you will need to get the gem textures somehow. I don't have plans to edit his other meshes. I believe the vanilla version doesn't contain any assets from anyone else, but I may have missed something. Please tell me if I did. I have Leanwolf's permission to use his models, and I strongly recommend you download them.

Stats

Scorched Dragonbone armour pieces should be stronger than Daedric and weapons should be stronger than dragonbone. All should be roughly 800 gold more than value of their standard dragon counterparts, to reflect the usage of an extra bone and scale.

Forging

All Scorched variants can be made by adding ember salts, a dragon bone, and a dragon scale to an existing dragonbone equipment. I know many of you late game players have a huge excess of dragon remains,  but I want this to be more accessible to those who follow other playstyles, like maybe rushing smithing before even seeing the Greybeards

These pieces of equipment will not be sold by merchants. Lore-wise, what merchant will be able to get their hands on that much dragon bone? And risk such valuable stuff by rubbing fire salts on it?

You can make ember salts at a smelter, like making an ingot with fire salts and firewood as the ore. You  can change 10 ember salts back to a fire salts at a forge if you realise you have too much

Installation

Drag the .esp, Meshes,  and Textures folder into your Data folder. You want to merge these. Now choose if you want vanilla or BSW weapons meshes. If vanilla, you're done! If you want BSW, also drag the Meshes folder inside BSW (Red Gems). The armour is optional. You don't have to move the .esp over, and you don't have to activate it if you do. But weapons are needed if you only want armour.

If you want a texture replacer, you can rename the 'ScorchedDragonbone' folder to 'dragonbone' and don't install anything else.

Compatibility

Should be compatible with all other mods, including those that affect dragonbone equipment. Load this mod lower down in your load order and you *should* be fine.

Changelog
1.0 - Initial release, weapons, helmet, two scale shields, and ember salts

1.01 - Made the ember salts look prettier

1.1 - Made a mess

1.11 - Fixed the mess. Armour now requires ember salts to scorch, as it should. Gold value better reflects the crafting method

1.1x(future) - bug fixing, if any

1.2 - Add more armour. Will most likely not be done before Christmas, and probably a few months after. College is kicking my ass, but dragonslaying fashion is life
