About this mod

A full HIMBO+CBBE remodel of the vanilla hide, studded, leather, and scaled sets with outfits by NordWarUA,

I've always thought the vanilla hide sets looked quite silly - with their scant coverage despite Skyrim's frigid climate, and the tendency for characters' legs to clip through their oversized kilts while walking. However, NordWarUA has published a wide variety of much nicer armor sets with a more grounded aesthetic. I've assembled a number of these to replace the vanilla hide, studded, leather, and scaled sets, and created a full set of BodySlide morph data for both HIMBO and CBBE.

SkyPatcher is also a soft requirement, as I've used it to rename a few of the affected items to match their new appearance, without the need for patches with other mods editing the same items. Hide, leather, and scaled bracers are reamed as gloves, and the scaled horn set is renamed as "scaled chieftain," since it now has a fur mantle in place of a horned... something slung over one shoulder. I've provided coverage for all enchanted variants of these items in the base game, Thaumaturgy, and Summermyst.

BodySlide Info

There are a total of 46 BodySlide entries added by this mod, extensively covering every variant of the replaced armor sets' worn models. While I've included prebuilt meshes compliant with zeroed sliders for HIMBO and CBBE, many users will need to build their own meshes to fit in alongside whichever body shape presets they have installed for other outfits, and you'll need to do so as well if you want to avail yourself of the zaps for customizing the hide and scaled sets.

For ease of organization, all of this mod's BodySlide entries start with "HIMBO Rawhide" for male models and "CBBE Rawhide" for female models. This means that by entering one of these strings into BodySlide's outfit filter text field (at the far top-right), you can display and easily batch-build everything for the corresponding sex.

There are a handful of zaps for customizing certain outfits when building them in BodySlide:

  • Remove Chest Plate (Scaled, Scaled Chieftain) - Removes the central decorative plate from over the chest of the armor. This piece is meant to be rigid, but is prone to distortion on more exaggerated physiques, so I've provided the option to simply remove it.
  • Remove Pauldrons (Scaled) - Removes the pauldrons from the standard scaled armor, if you prefer a more svelte look.
  • Remove Pouch (Hide, Scaled, Scaled Chieftain) - Removes the pouch from the right hip of these three sets. Useful if you have a mod that adds its own equippable belt pouches.
