Hey, y'all, just a heads up. If you're using DynDOLOD 3.0 you will not use this or any other mod-provided billboards. (If you're following gamerpoet's tutorial, skip this step!) Happy modding!

Interesting because Im running Dyndolod and its not detecting Lod despite having mods like simply bigger trees etc. Grr so annoying.

Late, but thanks so much for the heads-up! Was literally wondering about exactly this (When comparing the requirements listed on the official website compared to what a tutorial I was reading said), so you've saved me quite a bit of headache and confusion. :')

Im confused on the instructions for simply bigger trees. Do we copy over simply bigger trees text files over to these billboards? Or vice versa?

A bit late replying, unfortunately. I'm a stickler for detailed instructions and PaleRiderx's are kind of vague. What I did to get a flawless LOD setup (w/ RAT+SBT+HQB) was (and skip any step unused):

      1. Download the Main file for Vanilla (or optional Lush Medium file if you choose HQB's Lush optional in HQB's FOMOD) here and unzip it on my HD.
      2. Download RAT, SBT( or SBT: RAT - Loose if using RAT) + BILLBOARDS for RAT (or for Vanilla Trees perhaps in your case), and HQB
      3. Copy and paste the multiple TreeAspenxx.dds files from the RAT archive (vanilla\LODGen folder) to the unpacked LODGen\Skyrim.esm folder of your INDISTINGUISHABLE mod and overwrite.
      4. Copy and paste the multiple .txt files from the BILLBOARDS for RAT (BB for Vanilla for you) archive (LODGen\Dragonborn.esm and LODGen\Skyrim.esm folder) to the unpacked corresponding LODGen\Dragonborn.esm and LODGen\Skyrim.esm folders of your INDISTINGUISHABLE mod and overwrite.
      5. Repack the INDISTINGUISHABLE mod back into an archive.
      6. Install RAT, SBT(or SBT: RAT - Loose if using RAT), HQB (remember to choose or not choose the Lush option in the FOMOD that corresponds to the INDISTINGUISHABLE mod you got from here).
      7. Install the repacked INDISTINGUISHABLE archive.
      8. Run SSELODGEN and grab a coffee.

Could you explain or maybe guide people through this when keeping in mind we did not do this like you, we need to have help :)
Things you don't explain that are not at all obvious or possible to get from context:
      1. What "the main file" is??? Where, we are talking about multiple mods here
      2. Your explanation here makes no sense, I don't really understand anything, try to explain what you mean!
      3. What "unpacked lod gen"? You forgot that part entirely Lol :D
      Can keep going.

How do I run the lod gen?
      What settings? etc

(edited this a bunch of times as I experimented, but here's the final result)

      Asar00's method summarized (without HQB):
Extract Indistinguishable Billboards (IB) into a separate folder (eg: \IB_Extract\)
Extract/copy the DDS and TXT files from RAT into IB_Extract
Extract/copy ONLY the TXT files from SBT Billboards for RAT into IB_Extract
Zip up this folder and drop it in your favorite mod organizer's download folder.
Install RAT ,SBT Loose, SBT Billboards,
Install the new IB archive from IB_Extract

If you have Vortex (tested with beta version):
Install IB, RAT, SBT Loose, SBT RAT Billboards.
Vortex will then give you warnings about conflicts (use the red lightning bolt on the right hand side for these steps). You'll click on each one, define a rule for which files have priority, and then the lightning bolt will be marked green. eg: https://i.imgur.com/kfThvEN.png

I've included all the subsequent rules below, but they should auto-complete as you walk through them.

IB should load --> BEFORE --> SBT Billboards for RAT (or just SBT Billboards)
IB should load --> BEFORE --> RAT (or your favorite tree texture mod)
RAT should load --> BEFORE --> SBT Loose
RAT should load --> BEFORE --> SBT Billboards for RAT
RAT should load --> AFTER --> IB
SBT Loose load --> AFTER --> RAT
SBT Billboards for RAT --> AFTER --> IB
SBT Billboards for RAT --> AFTER --> RAT

      eg: https://i.imgur.com/wKykHYS.png

From here, load up IB's conflicts (the now-green lightning bolt), and click on '114 conflicting files.'
      * A pop-up listing these files will appear, and you'll scroll down to the bottom to "Edit Individual Files."
      * A second window will show up giving you files you can change priority that will supersede all other rules.
      * For every DDS file, click the dropdown on the right and change it to use IB.

This may seem daunting, but it can easily be done in a few minutes. eg: where some are not yet marked https://i.imgur.com/IayjTHL.png. You can also type '.dds' in this window to have the relevant lines highlighted.

Deploy your mods, sort, and then run your LODGen. It'll be a while.

If you are trying to correct vague instructions maybe you should tell us what RAT, SBT, and HQB are or just stop using abbreviations. It's PDS to help people with OKI to fix MFDs.

Step 1: Read the original comment where it says it's about the instructions for Simply Bigger Trees.
Step 2: Go back to the description page and read those instructions.
Step 3: Learn what the mods are.
Step 4: Know that you're an asshole for demanding everyone write out the full and lengthy names for all of these mods every time they are referenced because you were too lazy to go back to where the conversation started and/or too stupid to learn the abbreviations.

      Detailed enough for you?

So I watched gamerpoets video on dyndolod and he said to install this but I want to know if this is needed if I have a tree mod like EVT with it's own billboards

As per my conversation on this exact issue w/EVT's author: "As i mentioned, you don't want to use any tree billboards with DynDOLOD 3. If you install any of the latest versions of EVT, you will not have billboards from EVT. Just disable/uninstall them from any other mods that may have them."

The mod author of EVT says to never use mod-provided billboards with DynDOLOD 3.0.

Idk if you've already figured this out or not but no, you should not use 3rd party billboards w/DynDOLOD 3.0

My question is if we still need the indistinguishable vanilla vivid lighting (for vivid weather mod) one anymore?  Vortex says its redundant since everything loads after it.  Currently using 2.98 DynDOLOD.

So... just to get this straight in my coconut brain... I only need SSELodGen if I'm not using Dyndolod?

i'd also want to know but the yt guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMrjXivssso&ab_channel=GamerPoets doesn't really mention anything (or maybe it does, i didn't finish watching the video) so idk.

Which would you recommend for these? They seem quite bright. So maybe the dark version?

I'm using Mythical Ages Weather and Forests of Dibella for the trees.

*Update* tried them but it made the trees yellow.
