Thanks to Skyrimman55 a Realistic Needs and Diseases For Tamrielic Culture is now available in the description under patches. (This is probably obsolete now with the version 2 update, I'm not sure.)
Moved the Entrance to Redthorn Manor to Southwest of Riften next to Darklight Tower's Summit (You are now required to do the quest "Repentance" in order to reach the manor.) THIS IS IMPORTANT!: If you are already inside the manor or the courtyard of it use a teleport spell or fast travel away and start the quest at Darklight Tower!
New Location: Redthorn Tower - Southwest of Riften next to Darklight Tower's Summit. The enemies are Lvl 30+ so be ready. (You can enter at the base and head to the top but you won't be able to progress after this point until you finish Darklight Tower's quest "Repentance" in order to avoid conflicts with the base game.)
Changes to the Redthorn Vacation home - When you first arrive the owner is no longer outside dead, now he is in the house. Sometimes the player would load the cell and travel to do something else and come back to find nothing there. The hired hitmen are also inside so watch out.
Bug fixes (Argonian Hideout is next on the list.)
Nerfs (Much needed)
Price Slashes (No more super expensive/valuable aloe extract etc.)
Lore Fixes + Quality of life Improvements (Bosmer generally only eat meat + Some of the added notes all had the same name and that's fixed.)
The hotfix should fix the spider issue that was happening.
i am using the bodyslide and outfit studio, may i ask that whether i need to run it for making the armor added by this mod suit my body? i am not sure cuz i don't find outfit file but armors' shape seem different with my body. ANYWAY, it's a good mod, and thx for creating it.
Im doing an alchemy build and see the fortify alchemy on the sugar ingredient. I've identified every other added ingredient from and none have the same effect. Is there a +alchemy ingredient in the vanilla game I missed maybe?
Is there a story to the houses? Like Redthorn Vacation Home for example? You seem to put so much effort into it but I cant seem to find a story. Or is it just dumped into the world?
There are various notes you can find in the houses but none of it is super deep lore diving into the history of the homes. I may change or update some of this as when the mod first released the vacation home was just a place to get a few of the new items and more of a personal house and my level design and world building skills were very much lacking 10 years ago. I am already working on some things involving the main house but it will take time for the update to be released.
@Watcherzero You might want to add a sticky letting folks know DO NOT let the hotfix overwrite the main file. Install it separately. I just tested this out and by overwriting it cause issues like missing graphics files and CTD'ing.
Idk what you mean. The hotfix is just an .esp and the other main file is where the textures and meshes are. It says "REQUIRES MAIN FILE 1ST!" Unless you aren't manually installing the hotfix? I would suggest doing that.
am i missing something or does the merchants passage not have a secret path/room or something that leads to the level 25+ area? it seems like theres js the blocked paths and albino spiders with nothing beyond the spot that says the exit to bruma has been blocked.
I experience a strange bug, while entering the Redthorn Vacation home. Due to some reason, if I leave the building before dealing with the hitmen, everytime I enter the house, there is one hitman less, until none remains. Note: loading and early save doesn't help. I enter an empty house, with no hostile encounter.
After starting a new game with your mod and hotfix installed, I entered Redthorn Tower, got attacked, wiped out every living soul until the locked door stopped me, and left. I finished Repentance and returned to the tower, but haven’t yet found a way through the locked door.
I’m guessing killing all the inhabitants before Repentance broke my ability to find a key, or am I being blind?
Could you please be more specific? I'd gone through there with what I thought was a fine-tooth comb, found two keys to that place in particular, but no more; the tower-door's still locked.
I've just revisited and stripped the place to the walls. It now looks deserted and rather sad, but no more keys.
EDIT: Never mind. Since I know where the key should've been, I can console through the locked door with mental impunity; thank you for the quick answer.
In case anyone else was having this issue: The key is in Redthorn Tower, not Redthorn Manor. You will have to enter the tower from the top, near the top of Darklight Tower. The key will be on an end table just inside.
A possible idea to add in the next update; The Book of Circles (https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Book_of_Circles) An invaluable tome to any True Redguard, often installed in homes in a little altar-nook near their hearths and only handled with respect
