I'm confused by the difference between "Toggle Menu" and "Exit Menu". If I have "Toggle Menu" enabled can I disable "Exit Menu"? Using this with Eating Animations and Sounds.
I'm also confused by how I'm to use the Dynamic Activation Key option. If my activation key is Shift + E, do I press that combo while highlighting an item in the barter menu, and not let go until the barter menu is reopened?
Toggle menu will turn off the menu and turn it on again after the animation is finished. Exit menu will just quit the menu. About the Dynamic activation thing, yes. I plan to update this mod with different "dynamic" activation thing.

Inside the barter menu I've tried both holding Shift + E and Shift + Left Mouse Click while a food is highlighted, but nothing actually happens besides the food being purchased. I have "Toggle Menu" enabled, "In Dialogue" enabled, and "Exit Menu" disabled.
Fantastic mod - However, i tinkered with the MCM option where the barter menu toggles off when you buy food/drink, and this causes me a CTD. If it use the 'Exit Menu' option, it works fine. But with the toggle, it CTDs as soon as it should trigger back the barter menu.
I m getting the exact same crash, yes I don't understand why is that.. I can't pin down where the issue is.. but the scenario you described it's the same. I posted and error report.. it's something with Skyrim Souls at the first glance.
if you increase the duration to 5 sec, from 2.5 it will work. but anyway .. not as intended, too bad it doesn't account for skyrim souls. I tested this on GTS list in default mode.
he´s right, i have the same issue, everything seems fine, the options UI appears in the MCM, but when i buy food while sitting on a seat of an inn it does´not trigger any animation. seriously i dunno what to do..
If the item is being consumed after buying it, then the mod is working as intended. As for the animation, it'll only trigger if you have a mod that adds animations.
oh man, this is great! any plan to incorporate this to Today's Menu mod? It's basically a mod that give innkeeper a dialogue option to order "today's menu" and we will instantly get the food item without browsing the barter menu. would be cool to be able to sit down, order "today's menu" and immediately consume it/have the animation playing.

Potential conflicts in my Load Order that i can think of are Skyrim Souls or Dynamic Activation Key - Addons Collection at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com).
Just posting here in case it's a bug. Again could just be something in my LO that causes it though.

As for the animation, it'll only trigger if you have a mod that adds animations.
Any choice to get a longer animations? For example, when you eat a soup, character only pick up the spoon twice.
