I would love to see a version of this that doesn't start playing the sounds until Unbound or Before the Storm are completed, in case of alternate start mods. but this mod seems great!
Hi @Clofas I love the option to stop dragon roars after the main quest, but could it be also possible to start hearing them once the quest Dragon Rising has begun ? This would make non dragon playthrough nice :)
Thanks for the update. Probably won't use it because I don't think they necessarily leave Skyrim after their little dragon party but it's nice to have the option. Hope to be able to show the appreciation better in the future :D
Even when playing with alterative start mods, dragon roars feel natural near the mountainy terrain around Skyrim. I been enjoying this mod even without dragons because in the many mountain areas in Skyrim, it makes it so the wind is possibly playing tricks on your ears.
I don't have dragons spawned in my game because I am not playing as the dragonborn, but when I hear the distant roar from this mod I still look to the skies. Gets me every time! Could be the dragonborn is some other person off fighting a dragon in the distance somewhere.
Is it safe to add and or remove your sound mods during the course of a game? What happens when Alduin is destroyed, and the dragons are no longer a huge threat? What happens when the civil war is over and your Ambient War sounds will no longer make any sense?
Hey Clofas, I'd like to know not if one can remove the mod but rather if it's possible to attach a condition in the plugin to quests advancement ? For instance, I use two mods which for the first one disables random dragon attacks until Sahloknir's death while the second one disables them after Alduin is defeated (entering Sovngarde). I guess the same idea could be applied to your battlefields mod and the civil war status. Thanks for the great series of releases anyway, cheers!
Agreed, this is why I won't use either mod until this is answered. The fact that my comment has been up for a while without a response says it all. Don't install these mods if you will want them removed or be able to turn them off at some point.
Ciofas, you could at least give a yes or no. You look worse for not answering.
Thanks for the response Clofas. What you wrote is encouraging. I myself have mods up on Steam and have anserwed hundreds of people when they ask questions. I also have a YouTube channel with over 3K videos, and I have chatted with thousands of people in the past ten years.
It is very rare that I miss people's comments, and I always try to make sure everyone get's heard. So because of that, I thought you didn't care or didn't want to answer my question here. Plenty of other modders on NexusMods don't answer either, so I didn't think you'd be much different. Regardless, I was able to get your attention here with my last reply. Thank you for that.

Me: Immersion!
The game: Dragon Sounds!
Me: Looking around frantically!
The game: Gotcha, no dragons!
The game: Here's another one!
Me: Oh god, run for cover!
This increased my anxiety so much I had to uninstall. Nice little mod though, lol

But do you think this is immersive and does it occasionally startle you?

Ambient Warfare already has the conditions applied to stop after the civil war, as described on the changelog from the latest update awhile ago.
I will add in conditions for this one to stop after Alduin is defeated when I get around to updating this one.
And yeah, safe to remove since no vanilla records are actually touched.
God forbid I take longer than you'd like for a response, sometimes I miss them. I'm only human.
