Is there any way to make the woodpecker sound silent while underwater or at least reduced? I noticed by the lake west of Riverwood, when you are underwater, you can hear the woodpecker sound effect as if it is right in your ear and it is a bit jarring since you shouldn't be able to hear outside sounds that clearly while underwater. I know this request may be a engine limitation so maybe just giving us the option to just remove the woodpecker sounds. Love your sound mods by the way!
This mod is great and adds tons of atmosphere to the game. Only thing is i am hearing the hawks a bit more frequently than feels natural. Is it possible to reduce the chance to lower than 0.01?
Yes, open up the YAML and you can lower the chance as needed. The chance is per second, so you could drop it to say .005, or .006 and get something less frequent.
Thanks! i was going to try that but i wasn't sure if .01 was a limitation or not. Ive become obsessed with your mods over the weekend and went on an installation frenzy haha
Open xEdit to lookup the last 3 digits of the formid's for what you want to edit, and then CTRL + F to find that in the YAML. Then change the chance to whatever you want. Using notepad is fine
Thank you for your work! And thanks for posting in a previous answer how to decrease the frequency of the birds' calls. Can you please tell me how much more storage the WAV files take? With mods, Skyrim is taking over my drive!
Pro tip: You can click the "Preview file contents" link under any mod's download buttons to see the files (and their sizes) within. I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but it can be a handy tip for just getting a quick peek at things from time to time on Nexus mods.
Taking a quick glance at this mod's individual sound files, looks like the higher quality sounds take up ~OVER 10X (!) the space. So the space-saving version should make quite a significant difference in this case.
But at the end of the day, all that really matters is "can you hear the difference?" for stuff like this, imo. If you're lucky enough to not really hear any problem with lower quality files, you're golden and can save that ssd space for other stuff; if you're cursed with audiophile-ear-itis then you already know you're doomed to carrying the burden of big ol' HQ files forever. ;p
Hi first of all, thank you for this mod...but one question please...i am on GOG version 1.6.659 so its not the latest version of Skyrim, therefore I cannot use the lastest version of Sound Record Distributor and Address Library....would this latest version of your mod work with older versions of Sound Record Distributor or only on newest? ty!
Is this suppose to be mutually exclusive with your wildwood mod? If I play both at the same time this one only plays. If I uninstall this I can hear the wildwood sounds.
