If one has a fear that huge creatures (like the whales) may lurk beneath the surface of a deep body of water, would that be colossal thalassophobia? =)
(I have a--thankfully pretty mild--touch of this non-rational fear of deep water, myself. It's worse if it's night, and worse if there's not much civilization and people around.)
Anyone who does not have a fear of deep water is frankly irrational imo. Humans are not meant to be in the ocean and our very nature tells us that. Same as we are not meant to be out and about in the dark and not meant to be way up on high cliffs. Fear is just nature telling us...this can kill you idiot!
avoiding to become diner isnt irrational, or would you take a dip in the nile? "hey those logs are getting closer" and irl, getting eaten by jaws would be a lot more merficul then say a great white, cause it´d need to eat you piece by piece. (the movie cover alone is scary a.f. tho) theres also a variety of smaller sea creatures that´d snack humans. humans cant really fight in the water, or while climbing, or in the dark, and your instincts tell you to gtfo even if you know there is nothing^^
I only realised just how wonderful and atmospheric this mod is, when I discovered that it had stopped working! To my horror, the Sea of Ghosts lay eerily silent and empty - as if all the great sea beasts had become extinct. To my intense relief, I discovered from the posts below that the problem was the Sound Distributer update. Once version 1.3 was reinstated, my sea creatures returned, and the Sea of Ghosts is a joy to explore once more. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this fantastic mod!!!
It wasn't working for me either. Sound Record Distributor has several comments of people having issues. One says drop to the 1.3 version and I confirmed that works.
just now i noticed the only mod that works is Whales Off The Coast and that has the above problem of sounding too low , as for now Murder of Songbirds,Wildwood Echoes,Distant Dragon Roars,Ambient Warfare for some reason don't work, I have a suspicion that it is not working properly with Sound Record Distributor.
Think you could point me in the right direction on what triggers the area that these play? I'm looking in SSEEdit and can't figure it out :) I was hoping to change the area where they're distributed but I have a feeling it's hardcoded.
Hi, Your mod looks very nice but I'm not sure if I can use it proprely : I set every lines at 1 but nothing happens after a couple of minutes, staying at several places on the northern coast. What have I done wrong?
You'd want to set it at 1.00, but that's not recommended. You'll hear whales constantly. If you want to hear them more often, set it slightly higher, like 0.02 or 0.03
Mok, doesn't work even with 1.00, weird because you other ambiant sounds mods work very well on our side. Anyway... I leave it but thanks for trying to help me :)

1.3 does!
Deletedeven when setting it to 1.00 in the yaml file

It's actually to hear the sounds quickly to test before to put it back to 0.02.
Anyway... I leave it but thanks for trying to help me :)
